I'm enjoying this demo. Can't wait for the full version and having to think more about pace for 8-12 round bouts. Should be fun

Re: Fight Night Champion Tuner Set Available Today, For 360 Demo Only
Just thought of this and would like OS take on it...
What if EA released slightly adjusted tuners every day that made every day's fights slightly different than the previous day. Maybe one day will be power punchers day or one day counters will be slightly more powerful, etc. I'm not talking huge changes, just slight changes that will change the day's "best" styles on a day to day basis. This adds an element of "bad training" "buster douglas / tyson" etc if you can follow what I'm saying...
Any thoughts?
If anything I expect it's gonna be the direct opposite, I don't think we are gonna see many tuner adjustments at all. I'd expect it's only gonna take 2 or 3 at the most to zero in on the ideal settings for everything. After that they will only need to use the tuners again it if they drastically change the game somehow with an official patch (for example, removing the perfect block counter window).

Re: Fight Night Champion Tuner Set Available Today, For 360 Demo Only
nothing has been "fixed" yet, a second tuner was made available on the 9th that rolled back the 1st tuner's changes. If you downloaded any tuners on or after Feb 9th the gameplay is back to what it originally was when the demo was first released

I don't think the one punch KO should ruin this game. A boxer that is capable of a one punch KO should be able to KO his opponent if he's not defending or protecting himself correctly. The One punch KO is suppose to give boxers that since of being able to get KO'd at anytime.
The think with Fight Night Champion all boxers seem to be able to one punch KO you. Ali should be able to Flash knock you down because of his speed. He should be be able to KO certain boxers in later rounds. I think Ali punching power is too high. Ali should have that tattoo you type punches. The one's that bust you over the course of a match.
How often has someone been 1 punch ko'd by a punch that doesn't even land or by a punch that wouldn't even phase a child??
This is where it could ruin the game"I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Re: Fight Night Champion Tuner Set Available Today, For 360 Demo Only
Was there a particular reason why they rolled it back? I'm just wondering if they found something after implementing the tuner or maybe it's a case where they wanted to gather more statistics and info on gameplay with the tuner versus gameplay without the tuner.
Any thoughts?
Original Reason -
There was a sticky post on the EA forums for a few days that has since been deleted or moved saying they found out the tuner caused an unexpected problem with a few things including Tyson and Ali's ratings (Ali's power dropped to 84, Tyson's power dropped to 93 and speed to 87) and they would be deploying another patch specifically to fix this.
Current Explanation -
It’s amazing to see now over 500,000 online games being played each day. You have probably noticed that we updated the tuner file last night to the original settings. With the tuner set functionality test completed for the demo and the online portion of the demo ending Feb 17th, we are now focusing on ensuring functionality for the full game. Further for those who noticed different boxer ratings online and offline, this is a display issue in the demo and does not affect gameplay. Thanks for your suggestions and feedback.
Welcome to EA Forums, where you can chat about games with other players, help each other out, share feedback, and report issues you’re having with EA games.
If I had to guess, the tuner was rolled out for 2 reasons, #1 to test the functionality of the tuner in a live environment and #2 to appease the vocal critics of the game that were spamming the EA Forums night and day complaining about how much they hated the demo.

Visualizer, I appreciate the reply as well as all the info you provided above. I rarely, if ever, visit the EA forums, so just about all of that is new news to me.A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Re: Fight Night Champion Tuner Set Available Today, For 360 Demo Only
I'm enjoying the demo as well, but I have to be honest.
Unless the Legacy Mode has been severely beefed up, I'm probably going to wait for the price to drop on this game.
I'm probably going to buy MLB2K11 when it comes out and I don't have the funds to buy two games in one month.
While the gameplay in a boxing game is very important to me, it means nothing without a deep career mode.
If it's the same formula of grinding out experience points, no thanks. I know you can now spend money going to various gyms, but I fear that'll get old quick.
I want a career mode that features managing an entire gym with multiple fighters with various attributes and personalities.
Let me spend my money on maintaining my gym, advertising to get more fighters in, picking promoters, managing diets, hiring cutmen, etc.
Give me the whole enchilada.
I know I sound like a broken record, but all the career modes of boxing games have essentially been the same since the 8-bit days.
I want a nice combo of FN and the sim Title Bout. Seeing what games like NBA2K11 have done with My Player, there's no reason why this couldn't be done.Comment

Re: Fight Night Champion Tuner Set Available Today, For 360 Demo Only
From my understanding, the tuner was a test to implement and see how it rolled out. I'm thinking it was done to allow the community to speak on what should be tuned and then try and tune it. Then they put it back to default demo.
It wasn't really something that went into place to try and perfect the demo. That's how I see it.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment
