Come on, Knockout Kings 2001 had feints

I've kept my comments to myself since the announcement of FNC up till today. I've kept things positive and not complained....ahem...suggested that EA do this or do that. I'm not saying that feints are a big part of a boxing game, but they could have been if they were used in combination with the blocking scheme that was used in Fight Night 2002. For those of you unfamiliar with this gem, (lmao) the blocking was done by pressing the block button for each incoming punch. If you wanted to block a 3 punch combo, you had to hit block 3 times. Me and a few buddies of mine got really good at it and had some great sim like matches. For those of you that played FN2002, you know this was no easy task. There is no reason why FNC should not have feints if a boxing game made almost 10 years ago had them. end of rant.

You are absolutely right, the lack of punch feints is the single most disappointing oversight in FNC to me. I still play a lot of UFC Undisputed offline multiplayer and the addition of feints to that series has really improved the quality and strategy of the striking. While I don't think EA sees UFC as direct competition for the FN series, I'm still surprised they didn't poach this idea and it's execution from UFC2010.

Great post. Another layer of strategy that feints can add to neutralize "perfect counter" abusers is that they will hit the block button on the feint, and then POW we smack them.

yep... This is probably my biggest disappointments with the demo (most of my other issues can probably be fixed via sliders/tendancy adjustments)

Exactly. It would be much more of a tactical match. Which imo is what most boxing fans are asking for. I think you would also see others stats more in-line with real matches. Like punch stats, stamina, etc. So basically the exact same thing they are trying to do with the tuners.

I agree 100%, it should be in the game, feinting is definitely important to the sport of boxing

Different development team. Past Knockout Kings games had many wrinkles that are not in Fight Night, as did other non-EA Boxing games.

I used to love the rag doll type knockouts/downs. I'd always try and hit them as much as I could while they were stunned or out, to keep my opponent up and on the ropes while I beat on him. Man that was ALWAYS fun.
