Noticeable difference from demo to preview build (vid link)

For those that haven't seen it yet, GameSpot did a preview of FNC. I immediately noticed a difference in the movement around the ring, the way the punches landed, how much damage they did, the stamina, etc. Not sure if GS got a final build or what, but the game looks a lot better from what I have seen. Here is the link. FNC content starts at 10:45. There is also a preview of the Sony Xperia if anyone is interested in that.

That was a nice KO. Dude previewing just tried to overwhelm Mosley throwing punches in bunches. He from what I could tell fatigued Pacman some in the 1st, got sloppy, and KO'ed with a nice right hook in the 1st.

Now, with my patient style of boxing and what I have accomplished in the demo; real boxing heads who can work the right combos may outwit the casual fan who will always pick Pacman, Ali, or whomever is rated the highest.

Movement looked the same to me, but his stamina def dropped quicker than the demo. It would have come back up just as fast but that douche was mashing the stick as fast as he could so it only looked like it regenerated slower.

I don't know about damage, he was able to drop Mosley pretty quickly on one occasion but I bet he was playing on a pretty low difficulty and anyone who's played the demo knows about Manny "I get plenty of KO's" Pacquiao, so I don't know how much stock to put into that.

In closing, I wouldn't say there was a noticeable difference in the game like your title says, I think you might be "hoping" too much, but stamina looks improved, even over the post-tuner demo so that's good news.

Yeah, the movement looked close to the demo. I will say that the punches looked crisper and harder when they landed. The guy using Pacquiao is exactly the type of guy who would cry and complain about KOs happening too much. He was punching himself out in the first with a game Mosley and kept getting caught when his stamina was low and getting knocked out/down. The right cross that Pacquiao got caught with was picture perfect. The game in the preview gave me hope that this may be the iteration where Fight Night turned the corner. The stamina looked pretty decent and you can fight your fight against people that want to punch themselves out in the first three rounds. Hopefully, this leads to longer, more realistic fights online for people who wanna use actual strategy and leads to vicious KOs for people who just charge in with no defense. People will complain that Pacquiao never gets knocked out in the first round. Well those people need to recognize that Pacquiao also doesn't charge in during the first round throwing insane punches with absolutely no regard for the other person's offense.

That was funny as **** when he got dropped. To the part in bold, this is what I am hoping for. I think the devs are onto something with the stamina. Fight Night has now become a thinking mans boxing game. Or so I hope.

I'm not sure what difficulty he was playing on, but I have to assume (if sliders were available) he was playing on default for everything. The stamina drop was nice seeing how he was going crazy with punches. To the part in bold, that's the first thing I thought after watching it, especially since I am use to playing player one. I've watched the vid about 6 times now and it really looks like there is a different flow to the overall boxing. My brother and I really put the demo through it's paces. Focusing on movement and punches from all the available angles.

I have a strong feeling that there are going to be a lot of trade-ins for FNC. The casual fan is going to get it handed to them when they find out that can't swing like crazy for a full 10-12 rounds and get a win. It may not be everything a boxing fan wants, but it's a good start.

I went ahead and pre-ordered from Gamestop the other day. I am not drinking Kool Aid yet, but I will wait a week and read the boards to see how things go.

Yea I think so too I read the boards at ea some of those guys won't be in the top 100. It seems like a good game its just the style of fighting some are used to doing won't hack it in this game.

^^^ I agree. Everyone can actually fight a different gameplan and it be viable. On fnr4 you were limited in what you could do. No cheese necessary!

The hell was he talking about "quarter turns" and "half turns"? You don't do that anymore.
