I knew the judging/scoring on this game wass flawed...but wow

I was playing the demo as Tyson vs. Ali and I won a decision in which I knocked him down in the 3rd. Punches thrown/landed and the percentages were about the same, I had a few more counters. Below was the score on all three cards:

    Tyson 10, 10, 10
    Ali had 9, 10, 9

Don't you get a point loss for a knockdown? Did the judges think the last round was a draw besides the knockdown?

I wanted to take a pic for proof, but my Pentax had a dead battery. I just thought the score was weird for a round with a knockdown.

This leads me to believe that the game will be a KO festival. Why they can't put in random judges with varying scoring criteria is beyond me. That should be relatively simple to do. Instead they put in some broken scoring system probably solely based on punch volume or overall connect % and call it good because decisions will be infrequent.

Was there a low blow warning or something?

A boxing game with a movie quality storyline in it = KO fest IMO..

          No. Just boxing.

To beat the CPU in the demo you have to have near or more total punches than the CPU, hit for a higher % and hope for a knockdown/out. That's how it seems.

Did you get a loss, boxing rules would have given you a majority decision.

The 10-9 is correct if Ali was winning the round convingly and you knocked him down, usually it's a 10-8 for a Knock down, but if an opponent is winning the round pretty handily... usually it's a 10-9 as it showed there.

Again I don't know if they marked you as a loss, draw or whatever but the scoring seems right all we would need to know is in the 3rd round besides the knock down how did you do?

I'm a defensive minded fighter first who loves to counter punch and only up the ante when I see a guy is breaking down a bit.

What I learned from the demo.. the aggressor will win even if you OUT LAND OUT JAB and have solid defense.

Basicially ring generalship means nothing (in the demo), just be more aggressive (throw more punches than you normally would) . I know takes away from the experience a bit, but better than getting ripped off because the guy "threw" more punches.

This game will be fun, but will have serious flaws, I already see when the fight ends and I win an easy lop sided 3 rounder Teddy Says they had it wrong or the guy was robbed... I even did this with my nephew I had him play as the second player.. doing basically nothing but stand there and let me tag him.

Guess what Teddy says my Nephew got robbed! Landed NO punches.

I hope this is fixed in the final but lets be realistic this game went final quite a few weeks ago, online has potential to be VERY FUN if EA does it correctly could be amazing.. think about it they are letting you bring your guy you use in the game and have him compete in career mode ONLINE.. sounds amazing... but leads me to think this time OFFLINE will be very short and shady- leading to us going ONLINE.

Thankfully we have the OS forum and a few others that we can have good fights without the cheesing and crap.

I guess we can create an online gym and have "good members" join it.

I won, I just thought the scoring would show 10-8 for the last round. 10-9 for the guy who got knocked the other guy down means he was getting dominated but landed a lucky punch. It was even, but I should have gained a point got the KD and another for winning the round by way of KD.

What I can't believe is you got a score of 10 to 10 in the 2nd round. I have never seen a 10 to 10 round in all the matches I have had in the demo or Fight Night Round 4.I didn't know it was possible for a judge to score the round even.

I might have seen that once or twice. It's very rare.

I've had a few 10 all's, but I've played over 100 matches since the demo landed, online and offline.

I've had fights where I was beaten percentage wise and landed punches wise, and I still won some how. I landed the harder shots for sure, but he landed more.

Granted I never lose anymore because I've gotten good at countering, but I remember being confused why people said anything about the judging. It has happened to me, but not nearly as often as others have it happen.

Not winning it "pretty handily", just plain out TOTALLY dominating the round, including severely hurting you. If you score a knockdown (and your opponent doesn't) there is a 99.999% chance of a 10-8 round in you're favor.
