How come I cannot win a single match online? I have now played 7 in a row and lost all 7. I have played all the previous Fight Nights and I am a former amatuer boxer and a follower of the sweet science. I understand that fighting my way up the leaderboard should be challenging but dang. I cannot even win a single fight. What's worse is that I do not have a single clue of what I am doing wrong.

Another frustrating thing I have noticed is that the boxers I am fighting have really high ratings whereas my CAB has low ratings. Is this because I have to purchase XP packs? If so, that is lame.

Be wary of the number rating of your opponent. Even a 2-3 point difference is a big advantage. I bought 10,000 Experience points (the last time I'll purchase any) and got my right cross up to a 19, and my jab up to 13 but only went from a 79 rating to an 80 rating.

I've had 3 fights since getting the points and have knocked out a 78 and two 79s rather easily.

My overall record is 15-7 with 10 knockouts.

In your case you should avoid fighting anyone with a rating of 83 or above.

Jay makes good points. Do not fight guys that are highly ranked. Here's my conclusion so far. Build your fighter's right and left hook so that you can stun your opponent. Also work on your blocking and head movement. Points don't go too far so you have to use them wisely. I think what's happening is guys are loading up their punch power and swinging away.

I'd stay away from anyone higher than you until you are above 80.

This game is really starting to confuse me guys.
Ok look, I started a Legacy guy right. Did some fights blah blah blah. Went to take him online and he was a 71, got handled by a friend who had a 80 something guy. Ok , I didn't know what I was doing, so I went to edit the Legacy guy but not in legacy mode, just plain "Edit Boxer". So suddenly it seems I can boost all his stats up if I wanted to. I kept him around 85 because I didn't want to make a cheesy 100 hundred guy but I didn't try to either. Now is the reason why I could make him 85 and seemingly higher is because I've won quite a few fights before editing him or what. What does this guy , made from legacy, have to do with other fight modes. All these different modes is really confusing the crap outta me. Do I have to make new dudes for each different mode?

When I got handled in my first OWC by a 90 guy (I was a 78), I wanted to see if I could earn some experience points by fighting in an unranked bout. I took my created 78 OWC fighter and he suddenly went down to a 71 facing a 90+ De La Hoya.

When you bring your fighter into OWC, the game levels him out so that everyone entering is on a level playing field. From there you can assign an allotted amount of XP to your OWC fighter but that doesn't carry over to Legacy mode. He's sort of a clone of your created fighter.

Thanks Dave and everyone else who helped out. That makes a whole lot of sense now. In my first four matches, I faced an 86, a 82, a 79, a 84 and a 90 and my fighter is a 76. No wonder I couldn't win any of those fights! And something I did notice that was suspicious after I finished fighting one of the guys is that he is number 3 on the leaderboard! Argh!

I wish I had known about buying XP and how much of an advantage even one rating point makes before engaging in these fights. Now I'm 0-7, have a ridiculously crappy record, and will never be able to move up the leaderboard. :-(

Haven't been online just yet--so does your OWC fighter then gain XP after each fight? Sorry if this is a basic question. I've only had time since yesterday to create my boxer and play a quick match against the cpu.

I was also wondering about this. I know last year it was all level. But this year they seem to really reward you for buying xp points. A little lame IMO but I guess it's gonna make them some money. My question is how do you improve your athleticism? Xp helps your punch ratings but how do you improve athleticism without buying the boosts? I know you get xp after every fight. Confused. Also how do you level up. I had a 3-2 middleweight and he was level 1. I have a 1-1 hw and for some reason he is level 2

You can remove him and it resets. If you purchased XP it will reset too.

Yes, you can unlock XP when you achieve specific things in Legacy and when you spar in Gyms.
