This is Something I Question: Illegal Blows

Obviously, the desire I have to see these removed is not going to be met. They should have been out of FN4 and still remain in FNC. That's how it's going to be, but how is it that in FN4 they included in a patch the inability to throw an illegal blow while stunned, and yet, here we are almost two years later and they resorted to being able to throw them in the stun state.

Not only do the two illegal blows in the game make zero sense, but if you throw them in a stun state, the ref will stop the fight, put you back in your corners...and just like that you are no longer stunned.

So I wonder how the developers put it in, hear the community and take it out, and then put it right back in again?

If they took it out people would whine about it. If they leave it in people will whine about it. People are going to whine no matter what EA puts/doesn't put in the game.

Re: This is Something I Question: Illegal Blows

Dave, I know exactly what you mean! This afternoon the whole illegal-blows-to-get-out-of-a-stun-state-cheese actually cost me a match. I was a little behind on points but I kept landing the more effective shots on my opponent. He had already been down twice and by this time I had him wobbling all over the ring with well timed counters. It was near the end of the ninth round and I knew that I needed at least a knock down to win the fight. After landing a picture perfect right cross, he goes into the stun state. I begin taking my time by landing combinations downstairs and then up when lo and behold out of nowhere he buts me! The ref does little more than give him a warning and then he proceeds to run and outpoint me in the ninth.

      But it gets worse.

In the tenth round, I get him in the stun state again and think that surely this time I will put him down (and I know that if he goes down a third time this late, he will not get back up). Guess what? Yep. He does it again. This time the referee actually takes a point off but I was still down by one point because the judges somehow gave him the ninth round. So I lose a unanimous decision. I was so mad!

PS. Dave, I ran into a guy with 80" reach the other day and knocked him down in the first round. But then, I kid you not, he pressed jab, jab, jab, jab, jab the whole fight and backed up around the ring and no matter what I did I could not get inside on him. I weaved, I slipped, I blocked, I double jabbed...nothing worked! There was no way I could get inside on him. As a result he won every other round than the 10-8 round. It's people like this that make me want to quit playing the game online.

Is there any possible way to get inside on those CAB giants with 80 inch heights when they try to just stay on the outside?

What I try and do is anticipate their jab and sidestep it, but it's hard. You have to have some strong hook power to stop a jabber.

I fought that guy. He's a freaking joke. Get Ali's stance and run all over the ring. I landed 100 counters over ten rounds and nearly KO'd several times while he threw 1200 punches and landed only 40% of them (only 40%, that's sad) while I landed almost 60, and would have been near 70 had I chased his butt down. I fought this moron in FNR4 and the next time I fight him I'm gonna have a 6-8 super CAB to mow him down an urinate on the remains. His stamina was badly depleted by the end of the fight and I could just start tossing hooks and UC's and that Ali smooth stance bailed him out everytime.

His name is Crisisship7 or something like that.

Re: This is Something I Question: Illegal Blows

I ran into a guy this weekend that threw like 500 power punches. All I did was BLOCK lol. I would walk at him, he would throw a power right cross and I would block it and then bounce away while he threw another 2 or 3 power shots over and over. By the 5th or 6th round. I was still at 100% stamina (), while I knew he was in the low 60s at least. He was stumbling around mouth open.

Then I just opened up and let the hands fly. I would block his first power shot and then boom...boom....boom....boom. I would land 4 or 5 lighting fast shots all over. At this point you could see the "ohhhhhh ****" come all over his play style. He starts retreating non-stop and clearly sees I have baited this cat into tiring himself out looking for the one punch KO. I move in.....BOOOM....BOOOM. two big power left/right hooks. BOOM...BOOM.....repeat over and over.

I finally KO him and it felt really good to just BLOCK and let him tire himself out and then being still fresh being able to unleash fast powerful shots that clearly were doing BIG damage. Hell if he tried throwing a shot while I was unloading on him, it would not even land because with him being so tired, plus me landing shots at same time. His accuracy was horrible and he was missing badly.

Great feeling none-the-less to beat the hell out of one of these POWER shot guys just by playing defensive.
