MAICELO, CAMACHO TRADE BARBS BEFORE PUNCHES


Jonathan "El Depredador" Maicelo predicting this weekend's events.


OTBA -- When "El Depredador" Jonathan Maicelo and Macho Camacho face off on a rare Friday night OS PPV fight, there will be no world title at stake and no guaranteed ranking for the winner.

And given the fact that this is being billed as the most important fight for the 20-year-old Maicelo, 1-1 with 1 Ko, and given the trash-talking, hard-fighting nature of the two boxers, about the most prominent thing at stake for both is bragging rights to the winner.

The bout - a 10-rounder for the 1st fight in this weekend's OTBA, Put Up or Shut Up Lightweight Championship- will be televised from OS pay-per-view boxing beginning at 11 p.m eastern.

In the final press conference leading up to the fight Friday, there was more smack talking to be found between the two enemies than on a box set of the Jerry Springer Show.

Separated by a Plexiglas barrier supplied by the Los Angeles Kings hockey team, the pair traded insults instead of punches.

In this confrontation Maicelo cut Camacho with a right to the face. In addition to insulting Camacho, "El Depredador" has enjoyed razzing his opponent about his last loss to MK Cruz.

"I am going to carry a 14-pound pig named "Macho" into the ring," said Maicelo, "Camacho" is nothing more than a pig. That is all that he is."

Maicelo continued his verbal assault by holding up a photograph.

"You see this girl in this photo? This is the girl I am going to knock out," he said. "I would like to introduce her to you today. She is Machito Camachita. Do you know who Camachita's' best friend is? It is mariquita...

"Do you see any fear in my eyes? Do you? I'm not afraid of anyone, especially a coward like Macho," Maicelo said. "I've said it all along that I am going to knock his (bleep) out! I don't like him and I never have.

"I'm going to hit him like he's never been hit before. He doesn't want to be in the same ring as me."

"I am a much more intelligent fighter, a much stronger fighter and a much better fighter (than Camacho)," Maicelo said. "I've been working hard since Monday. We're back on track and feeling great. I'm going to have Easter dinner on Friday night. I'm going to put it on this cat. I want to be remembered as a great fighter who never left anything in the ring. The only thing I'm going to leave in the ring on Friday is Camacho's blood.

First fight, last fight, it doesn't matter to Maicelo, who said he's willing on putting his money where his mouth is.

"Just to show you how confident I am in myself, I am going to Las Vegas and will match anyone who opposes my victory". Maicelo said.

It would be an understatement to say that Maicelo has no love for Macho.

The pick: Macho Camacho is the better boxer and thus should win the fight. But ever since MK Cruz knocked him out, he has been exposed and will not be the same fighter this weekend. He has a questionable chin at best.

But Maicelo showed he's capable of going the distance with any fighter as he proved last weekend when he went 9 rounds with a world-class boxer and took deadly blows from R. Jones. He may not possess the boxing skills of Camacho, but he can take a better punch.

This fight deserves to be the main event on pay-per-view, but it should be entertaining while it lasts. I'll take Maicelo by an eight-round knockout.

Live From Mexico City....


Rashan Jones knocked out Broncos in the 2 round of their fight in Mexico City. The fans were real upset that the fight ended so soon. One fan said :if you blinked you missed it". Jones heard a chorus of boos as he was being interviewed and had this to say to the crowd..."don't blame me"! He also had some parting shots for Macho Camacho who was fighting his way to a win around the same time. Jones told the crowd to go to youtube to watch his latest movie clip starring him and Camacho. He said he was playing the role of Clubber Lang and Camacho as Rocky Balboa. You can view the clip right here...

I really liked the game Real Boxing for ipad. i finished that game in 2 days. Sad, that multilayer sucks there.
