This game doesnt reward true boxers

Just finished an OWC fight and landed over 800 punches compared to my opponents 400. Dominated every round and still lost decision!...Why?...Because he landed more power punches!...I very rarely throw them and because of this i lose....SUCKS!....the scoring system is flawed and biased!...First of all they need to create lobby rooms instead of this fight now crap so people can challenge other boxers with the same boxer ratings and secondly they should have seperate OWC lobby and beltholders with power punch turned OFF for people who dont use the stupid cheesy power punch!

The game does reward true boxing. If your opponent threw 400 power punches two things could have happened. You should have knocked him out or countered those punches enough to win the fight.

I have a lot of fights in OWC in and my overall record with my HW/MW is about 80-22. In some cases I get the one punch KO. In other cases I get out boxed. But it is far too easy to beat the guys that throw that many power shots.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I agree with Dave that it does reward good boxing. Matter of fact I will do one better and show you how boxing is rewarded.

I only play off-line, but I will say that ALI wins literally every time by staying on the outside, stick and move.

I think it does reward boxing, but its not the amateurs where each landed punch = 1 point.

I guess we would need to see a video to judge the fights ourselves to see if you were robbed or not.

No...not 400 power punches...400 alltogether but id say 80 of them were of the power nature. The reason for my 800 land count being so high is because 1...I dont go into a fight looking for the KO like most folks in this game...i try to pace myself with the intentions of the fight going into the late rounds and use my jab alot and 2...he was just standing there waiting to throw a counter and in turn i was countering him with combos....everytime i would land a combo you would here nada from the crowd or the announcers....but let him land a power shot youd here ?Ohhhhhhhh? from the crowd and the announcers would drool on thier mics praing him! Didnt matter that I was landing 3-4 punches to his 1....Power is all that matters in this game!...Think im lying take a look at the OWC leaderboards...dudes got like 320 wins with 300 KOs.....you can say what you want about them fighting bums but still ii find it discouraging that so much focus is put more on KOs than skilled boxing....and if anybody ou there fights likes me with intentions of going into the late rounds and doesnt throw a whole lot of power punches heres another thing you should be wary of....by the end of the 8th round no matter how good your D is...you can have max block AND headmovement XP ...your face will be so cut and swollen that hopefully youve won a majority of the early rounds because you will spend the next 2 rounds running for your life trying to avoid a TKO...oh yeah just to add FNC just shut my PS3 off while fighting fot 4th time in 2 weeks....

I believe the game does reward true boxers. When I play sim against cheesers online in ranked matches, I barely lose a round. I use a lot of movement, work off the jab and generally try to keep my opponent off balance.

I love playing with Wlad Klitschko, I just wish he didn't have a glass chin.

I have never experienced this either. Next time it happens post your stats. Something seems fishy.

If u were dominating like that, you should have won by KO/TKO any way...why even let the fight got the distance....second...connecting like that, you should throw power punches..that's what they are there for. I'd blame u for losing, not the game...shouldn't even went to the cards.

I'm extremely surprised to hear that. Unless you got knocked down a couple of times I don't see how you lost. 80 landed power punches wouldn't do that. I've got out-landed by 75 punches and had a dominant power modified edge and lost. I've fought against Leonard with Pavlik, and get out landed by 5-10 punches and out power him by 15-20 and lose the round.

I don't know, I can beat anyone with Ali off-line just by landing the jab.

I will also say that I was playing by Hearns against Chavez and Chavez landed alot less punches but stunned me a few times and he won the fight.

I just boxed Frost with Tyson and Frost threw more and landed more, but Tyson Rocked him more and Tson was winning rounds by landed cleaning power punches and staggering Frost.

Overall, based on what I see with Ali, I would say that punch volume always wins, but I have seen cases where power punches make a huge difference. At least I'm seeing a little variety on the judges.

I do agree the scoring is flawed, ive lost my last 3 OWC fights just because they landed a higher percentage of their punches. i dominated the fights even dropped two of the guys twice and STILL lost just because they threw a thousand bulls#$t body punches that didnt even effect me. This only seems to apply to OWC fights though, because head to head seems fine.

OWC is broken as all hell. The developers said that abusing one particular punch will result in the punch coming out slower right? Not in OWC. I had one guy just throw the right hook over and over and over and over and over and never took a break and the last punch came out just as fast as the first. For ROUNDS he did this.

As far as the game rewarding true boxing skills it all depends. In OWC all bets are off unless the two boxers are rated exactly the same or at the most within a point of each other. Even then it "favors" somewhat on SOME occasions true boxing but don't bet the farm on it. In other modes it kinda favors but sometimes, most of the times it doesn't.

make sure they whiff completely when they throw that punch over and over again rather than letting it land on your gloves as it takes away a lot more energy. otherwise i never have a problem with this

e: i also have a hard time believing OP landed 800 punches but still lost. in any sense, throwing what i would assume 1200+ punches in a fight and losing doesnt scream 'true boxing' to me whatsoever.
