Gotta shelve Fight Night Champ until the patch due to technical issues caused by game

I bought my disc Friday. Before that I rented. With the rental disc I only had issues with freezing online, especially in OWC, once with a freeze while saving - which deleted my boxer and XP Packs.

With the new disk I have had a hard shut down and then a shut down where it only quit the game and went back to the XMB on my PS3 Slim. I am shelving this game until this can be fixed, because I don't know how much more my PS3 can take. No other game freezes like this one. It did the same thing last time with FNR4, only it RROD'd my 360. Thankfully it was under warranty, but there are 360 owners getting the RROD from FNC. People have gotten the YLOD on the PS3 because of this game. Something needs to be done, because if enough consoles go up in smoke then there could be a lawsuit involved.

Can't play online - freezes.
Can't play legacy with CAB's - freezes/shuts off.
Can't play legacy with original roster - freezes/shuts off.
Can't play in fight now - freezes/resets.

Can I play MLB 10 The Show? Yes, no freezes.
Can I play Tiger Woods 10? Yes, no freezes.
Can I play CHoops 2K8? Yes, no freezes - as long as I don't load a custom playbook (PS3 only error).
Can I play any of the other games on my PS3 (demos, Hustle Kings, etc.)? Yes, no freezing.

I'm getting all types of freezes in Legacy on a 360. I can attribute it mainly to adding custom fighters to the ranks.

Sergio Martinez's portrait came through all distorted and it locks up if I ever even scroll past his name while checking the rankings. Juan Marquez won some fighter of the year award and it froze there too.

I had 0 freezes until about 4 days ago, now I get them all the time.

The game feels sluggish now too. I may pack it in as well.

Just curious, how can a gme cause a RROD? But I do not like just having to turn my machine off.

Legacy mode is so lame anyway, I may just keep the game and fire up Fight Now from time to time, but there is really no need to keep playing the title.

Given the technical problems, the stale legacy, sliders not working, etc. I cannot believe this game got higher than a 6.

Yeah Thats all Ive been doing is playing Fight Now and downloading/editing Fighters tendencies/ratings

and since the OS gym is pretty much dead because of issues with that mode too, I don't play online either

Even though Jazzbro said we'd have 100 slots, the game has a bug/glitch where if you download/create more then 74 CABs .............your game will either

1. Start deleting your CABS

or

2. Just Corrupt your roster file altogether and you'll lose them all

74 CABs or total fighters? I'm at 77 total counting the Champ Mode roster.

Fist, it can cause a machine to overwork during a freeze and then overheat. My RROD was because of online freezing at load screens with FNR4.

I think I'll delete all boxers I can and see what happens.

I don't blame you. If I wasn't such a fight fan I'd have passed on it. I know the patches/tuners will fix the issues, but where EA will lose out is it's gonna be "in a couple of months", to quote them, before we see the patch. I'm retiring from gaming soon (harder to hold my interest anymore), this was prolly my final purchase. Anything else was gonna be gamefly.

I have over a 100 in total and haven't seen any freezing/corruption/deleting

The 3 or 4 freezes I had were mostly due to the Pre-Order code business

Granted Ive only played the Fight Now and Champion Modes though.....haven't had an online fight in weeks

No, you're being smart. My PS3 is also used for NetFlix, browsing web, facebook, etc. I don't wanna lose the ability to do the other three.

I deleted a coouple of dupliCAB's to see what would happen. If there is no change this is collecting dust until I know everything is fixed.

Wow, Phobia. That's sad to hear. I know you had a great experience going there and then somewhat enjoying the game. It's crappy.

I haven't had any freezes in a while. I stopped going back to fighting after visiting the replay reel and that solved the dirty disc error for me. But that doesn't mean this game isn't plagued with some big time software issues.

Yea Dave because I did have a amazing time there and liked the game a lot. But every time I turn it on it is one issue after another. These are all the areas I have had freezes.

1) Legacy Mode right after it did the End of year awards - Once
2) Online Gym - Once
3) Legacy Mode trying to spar in training camp - Twice
4) OWC Fighter Select screen - Once

So it becomes more work for me to play it. I don't get a ton of time to game because my life is pretty hectic right now, so when I sit down to play I don't want to be trouble shooting and constantly restarting my machine over and over.

The last 2 times I tried to play this is what it turned into. 30 mins of playing and another 30 min trying to get it to play. I rather spend what little time I do have actually playing and FNC is not able to give that to me. Plus the devs not answering our gym issue had a big part of it also.

I mentioned that the entire gym is on hold and everyone is in limbo on what to do. Will we lose entire gym, will everyone need to find a new gym, can it be fixed, etc. NOPE, no answer. Longer I sit out "hoping" it gets fixed the less I can get for the game and put it towards something like Top Spin 4 which I have heard good things about.

Bottom line is I just want to be able to sit down and play, not waste time beta testing a faulty product.

I called Gamestop they are letting me return for cash refund. I will buy the game in the summer after the "all clear" from the patch. Way too many freezes from what ive seen. Love this game but not worth playing and taking chance that my ps3 goes up altogether.
