Counters Versus Punches Landed In Scoring

I just beat a PacMan button masher in a fight I was willing to throw away just to practice the perfect block. Here are the results of that fight.

    Total Punches Landed/Thrown: 389/584 558/1034
    Punch Connect%: 66% 53%
    Total Jabs Landed/Thrown: 73/115 22/45
    Jab Connect%: 63% 48%
    Power Punches Landed/Thrown:35/62 36/86
    Power Punch Connect%: 56% 41%
    Counter Punches 70/80 21-34

I won the fight 97-93, 97-93, 95-95. There were no knockdowns. The first two judges gave me 7 of the 10 rounds while the third judge scored it a draw. There were three rounds I won on all three cards with counter numbers of 10-10, 12-12, and 9-10. A surprising victory for me considering I was out landed by 169 punches.

Better watch those judges though, sometimes they'll pull a Chavez-Whitaker on you and flip it. I've had a fight where we both landed about the same amount of punches, he had a 45-50% connect rate and I hit for 75%. I had almost 100 counters for 8 rounds before I 1PKO'd him. It was the only KDof the fight. Scoring was 2 X's 94-93 for me. and one 94-94.
