    Fight Night Champion update 1.01 released

    It seems more like a tuner than a patch. So far I've seen lower punch connect rates, slower stamina regen, slower arm speeds when spamming jab, fewer rabbit punches, and the perfect block counter window removed.

    I don't think freezing has been effected yet, that's why I think this the tuner, also the small file size. Remember the end of Rocky 3 where the frame freezes as Apollo and Rocky start to punch? I'm still having that, whether the game was just turned on or three hours in.
    Cowboys Stadium is available for free now and though not available for purchase the new boxers are in the fight now menu. They all appear different than their original version, so much so PacMan looks like he's on Meth @ LW & FW. RJJ is on par with Sugar Rob, except his chin is low for his days @ MW.

    Those are my initial impressions. Does anyone else notice anything or have any impressions?

    EDIT:I'm PS3 btw

    Update - People @ EA Fight Night Champion board are reporting freezes and disconnects after dowloading update (not sure if tuner or patch, I'm leaning tuner, devs said above changes would be via tuner. Patch was for freezes).

    Update again...people are now reporting console bricking freezes. Makes me think this was released by accident; either the wrong file was sent or they had some more work to do before tomorrow and it was released early.

    I thought Microsoft and Sony test this stuff?

    This reminds me of the retail roster on NCAA 10 where guys in the CFL were still playing MLB for Auburn, etc. The roster was about two or three years old and accidentally got sent to the areas that burned the disk.

          Before the patch I'd have landed at about 75% and he about 50, with one of us going down with a 1pko. The spammers seem lost, even the bod jab spammers seem lost.


          Here's my match in ranked head to head, I had Hagler and he had Hearns. This guy tossed 500 jabs out of 1000 punches and 250 of those were body shots. I stayed out of range and landed several lunging power straights, two to the head and one to the gut were knockdowns.

            Based on what they said would release for the tuner do you guys feel everything made it and what could be fixed better?

              Connect rates are far better. You actually see punches missing at a realistic pace. Stamina is better with fighters that throw a lot seeing a good drop. One thing I'd like to see now is more power behind punches. I fought 4 fights with the new patch in OWC and went to 10 rounds every time. They weren't good fights either. People are leaving themselves vulnerable but the consequence doesn't seem to be much.

                Stop freezes, tweak stamina a little more, fix the matchmaking issues, give the jab a little more oomph, if a guy leaves his chin out there (body spamming) make him pay for it, and something else that gets my goat is magnet feet. Please remove that so I can establish a range on my jab. I think it effects only lefties vs. righties.

                  I almost feel like something is missing. Stamina is better, but fighters aren't paying for being spent. If you are dead in the water, a flush landing right should floor you. I went 10 rounds with a guy that was lifeless. I knocked him down at the end of the 10th and he got up at 2. It's not balanced.

                  I wonder if a tuner set will run along side the patch because right now punches just don't seem to have a big effect.

                    There is a tuner and a patch to be released. Not sure which hit.

                    I will say I LOVE the punch offsetting. My 20 jab is an absolute weapon now. With the new update I would start over, but I am scared to lose my XP packs. people have started over and lost them when they should have stayed with them.

                      Yes, punch offsetting really makes this game closer to the actual sport. Out of the guys I fought online this afternoon, 1 was trying to box and the game felt great. that must have been the patch because the tuner will show up in the game and not on it booting up.

                      If they can get the punch power a little more effective this game will be very impressive. I'm not getting freezing issues, but I'm on the 360. I did get a frustrating loss in the tenth. I was dominating and then I lost connection and got the loss. I'm ok with it because I was planning on starting over with my boxer.

                      This is the third time I started over and my pre-order XP has carried over. just letting you know.

                        Brizzo just responded to me and said what we had today was the patch. The tuner set will hit tonight or tomorrow night.

                              Patch usually is something that need to be hard coded fixed and requires permission from sony and microsoft to be let out into the population. Tuner fixes gameplay stuff tuning things that has a slider type of deal . Tuners can be put out by the developers as long as their games have the program to do so. Both you'll need to be hooked to the net to get .
