I will continue to repeat, if the body spammer knows what he is doing, you will lose. This game is no more than a grind it out 1990's type stamina drain fighting game now. 1st one to 5 knockdowns wins.

I'm still in shock that EA took this direction. The Demo had damage and 1 punch KO's. Now they are gone. Many bought the game based on the demo. This was bait and switch at its best.
    Agreed.

I just fought a ten rounder (head-to-head) where all my opponent wanted to do was throw 20-30 body jabs per round and then spend the rest of the time running.

I did the same thing and won a close decision. I finished the fight with 100% stamina and 0% damage. He landed 28 head shots for the entire fight! 2.8 head shots per round! (I landed 94 total). What a ****.

Even though I won, it was the most boring game ever. Now wins are less satisfying because the game is not as fun. I don't want to trade body jabs and then spin in circles for 10 rounds in a row.
    EA: Please add in-game saves.

I hopped online for one fight on LW OWC. It's sad. They actually think that stuff works.
my theory, and i havent tested it yet, is that when you hold R for "max block" as you say, it first assumes to block the face always and thats why body jabs are so successful. but if you "re-block" as they suggest when a punch is coming in, your block should be at your midsection to deflect those jabs at your stomach.

but consider that if block were raised, what would you be able to do once you block the shot? theres no away around that jab if the guy has an 80" reach. i dont care if these punches score because they should, but i should be able to touch his face if hes leaning in but i cant because the shot stops all my movement. theres no cause and effect in that part of the game and they overlooked it.

to me, that shot is open IRL all day but no one does it in fear of a straight, but that isnt possible in the game right now.

but i must say, that a lone is not going to keep me from enjoying this game

I am happy the jab is finally working. I don't go OWC but play mainly on Fight Now online. I use Lamotta and I use the jab to set up all my offense. I like post patch.

I am loving the patch. Body spam still exist but overall the game is better.

And why is this cat dancing in all the avatars? lol

You are correct about the blocking.

This. But the frustrating part is that if you "reblock" sometimes your fighter blocks the body shot but sometimes he blocks the head and misses the following body shot when your opponent is throwing a combination.

And isn't it so backwards that the boxers with a longer reach have better body work? IRL, a taller boxer goes to the body much less than shorter fighters because he is having to give up his power and height to shoot down to the body. In this game post-patch, it is even easier for the taller fighters to be the body spammers because their punches tend to trap the other fighter and suck him into that invisible pit of quicksand so he cannot move away.

Also, EA needs to quickly dispatch with that cheesy animation where your opponent can go to the body with a combination and your fighter will randomly fly back and forth across the ring like a fish out of water. So lame.
