    How to Instill Patience?

I'm one of those guys who go out and bang. Don't get me wrong, I fight with the same style the guy I'm picking (generally Ali or Tyson), with Ali I stay on the outside, use the jab and straight, try to counter. With Tyson, I lead in with the jab, bang to the body, head, etc, use slips.

The problem is I find myself throwing like 100 punches a round with Tyson, and like 60-75 with Ali. I never feel like I doing anything when I only throw the 30-40 punches a round that I'm supposed to. I'm fighting on 2 minute rounds, do not want to go down to 1 min.

How can I lower my aggressiveness like you boxing heads?

I am no boxing head for sure. Here's how I look at it though. The guys that go out there and want to destroy someone usually are instant gratifi***ion types that don't want to appreciate some of the things this game offers when you go deep with it. As the game is now, there is great reward to establishing the jab and working in the straight. Most of the time, by round six, you really start seeing some nice things happening in its set up, and that's when you can really set some nice combinations up.

A lot of times I get tempted to trade those shots, but for me the game is most rewarding when I wait things out and slowly finish my opponent off. But, there are different styles. Some guys go out for the kill, others take their time. I only go for the kill if I know for sure my opponent has no clue what he's doing.

My approach is a "Stop and smell the roses" style.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Be careful, time yourself, look for patterns and eventually you'll ***ch them. Watch them for a couple of rounds. Be busy, toss a jab here and there to keep the round in your favor. Once you have them down, ***ch them off guard and finish it.

I love how if you say c a t in any word it's *** right now. ***** ****. Love the feline spinner, lol.

Patience? My man you don't need patience post-patch. Just body spam or jab spam away...it works for the pseudo sims!

To play this game post patch and tuner, you need about as much a patience as a disc-spinnin', Rays jersey wearin' feline.

        Formula for success:

        1. Hold the block button.
        2. Circle away indefinitely from your opponent.
        3. When he gets close, lean into the body and rapidly press all the buttons you can find.
        4. Rinse, repeat.

Oh no no guys. The problem isn't me losing or anything, I'm fighting to my chosen fighter's strengths, I'm fighting with their technique(again usually Ali or Tyson are who I pick), and winning.

The problem is simply, I'm throwing too many punches per round to be sim.

Box sim and let the numbers fall where they may. If I am Ali and the guy isn't blocking the jab, I'll bust 100 of them into his face. But it will still look sim. I'll move in Bap Bap, step to the side, Bap Bap. I don't sit there and spam anything, but because its a video game and you don't have all the elements that chew time off the clock in a real boxing match, throwing 60 punches by a HW still looks sim to me as long as its done right. Ali floating around, throwing 100 punches, doesn't really look like 100 punches. Hard to explain.

Its a game. It was a game set up to throw higher punch totals. But its also a game that captures some of the sim elements of boxing if you have 2 sim fighters playing. So if you can get 2 guys to agree to fight "sim" you'll have a pretty decent match. Worse since the patch though because the possibility of 1 punch KO's are gone and damage doesn't accumulate as much so you can leave your chin out there withou any real risk which I do not like.

are you playing online or off?

              1) use the first three rounds as a feel out round. throw punches but dont be overly aggressive and dont tip him off to your full artillery of moves. take this time to see how he reacts to certain things, what he likes to do with his ring movements, tendencies, etc. most people come full bore right away and go into fight mode so you can easily diagnose what hes going to be doing throughout the fight. going into the fight with this type of thinking should bring your punch output way down. as you play more with this style you should be able to have a feel for how many punches youll need to throw to win rounds and beat guys up.

DO NOT panic if the other guy is going ape silly in there throwing 130 punches, this will only work out in your favor.

i like to throw a lot of jabs and 2 punch combos in this period to see what his counter movements are, a lot of players are predictable and they dont even know it. once you see what works you can add that third and fourth punch later on in the fight. i usually throw around 55-65 bunches in the early rounds.

              2) use the ring an find your range. i find i throw the most punches in a round when im sitting in the pocket and not moving around. openings pop up cause the other guy is swinging away and i get greedy for no good reason at all as i just end up with too high of an output #. force yourself to circle out after exchanging with a guy especially once theres a pause on the punching. by this point both fighters are just as comfortable inside, dont let that happen.

circle out and dictate the distance and punching. if he cant get a good rhythm on when you make your move to inside his guard, his offense will suffer and hes just going to get frustrated. circle out, weave back in, punish, rinse and repeat.

just my .02 but dont listen to me since people call me a cheeser all the time

and im starting to think plenty of guys on this forum would too lol
