I honestly felt really bad for a guy a fought tonight....

I have a 6' 6" created Jerry Cooney with an 81" reach, his real stats.

So I am fighting a 6"3" 210 lb counter puncher. I would step in and pepper him with a few good shots and then he would counter. Fighting legit like a real counter puncher. He rips open a really bad cut above my left eye. Teh damage bar was actually red, then recovered down to yellow in between rounds. The fight goes on, he's being really judicious with his punches as was i.

As the rounds went by, I was whitewashing the guy on the cards. He still must have had most of his stamina left coming down the stretch. He catches me in the 8th and I go down. I keep boxing and get him with a straight right in the 9th and jump on him and he goes down.

In between the 9th and 10th round he sends me a message, come on lets fight in the 10th. So what do I do, I comply....Why.....Because there are NO 1 punch KO's. I know that even if he knocks me down once, I'm getting back up...SO we end up playing Rocky and Appollo in the 10th, My cut was down to 80% by then so I knew I couldn't be stopped.

So here we have a legit boxer, that creates a legit boxer, he fights legit and has no chance, not even a punchers chance of winning the fight.

With 3 seconds left, I floored him and he didn't get up, probably because his controller was spiked to the floor at that point.

If anyone deserved the 1 punch KO to be brought back, it was this guy........

This isn't boxing, if you had some fool who was up on the cards willing to mix it up when they were ahead on the cards in the 10th, and you are still very strong, you should have a chance to still win.

Be thankful you fought a guy who tried to be true to the sport! Even when I lose to a guy like that I'm cool. 1 punch should be back but tuned down some & made different for each boxer.

I actually fight quite a few guys that I really don't have complaints with well, its about 30% spammers, 30% guys that are just trying for a power punch and about 40% that seem to want to box fairly realistically, of which about 10% are really good. But even those matches are rinse and repeat. Its a race to see who can get 4 or 5 knockdowns 1st.

If someone throws alot of punches just try to counter and move until they punch themselves out or if they don't throw alot of punches just pick your spots and wrack up the points. Yeah, I know, thats the basic concept of boxing, but it feels a little stale the way its implemented. Pre-patch to me had a sense of danger feeling to it and I was seeing a larger variety of viable tactics to win the game.

The way the game is set up, there isn't a whole lot of variety of styles. I'm just going to bide my time now until another patch comes out. I want to see real coounter punchers, inside fighters get rewarded for doing what they do.

Fact of the matter is, I really don't even like on-line. I would rather just box off-line and set up tourneys and "dream" matches or have some friends over on HBO boxing nights and have some play now.

The lack of damage and the non-existant 1 punch KO's is killing me. Offline now, even seems worse to me than online. Offline, no matter what sliders I put in, I can always get up 4 times even on Goat, and the AI gets up a minimum of 3.

I'm good without the one punch thing.. It was far to random.. In real boxing that creates excitement.. In the virtual world it just means an instant loss for something you had no control over..
