To the PS3 users out there, I have eliminated some of the freezes I believe.

I read on EA forums about a couple of guys who did this, and it worked for them, so I did it and it worked.

Basically I did a quick format, back to default settings. I saved everything I wanted to keep and after the quick format I downloaded the patch/tuner and all FNC related stuff (Chamions pack). I didn't lose XP packs, somehow, but I lost my settings file, user profile and boxer roster. Not a big deal on boxers. I uploaded all the boxers I didn't want to lose.

So far no freezes or framerate hiccups. I haven't fought online yet and won't until I know that is fixed. Tonight I am going to add a couple of CABs to a legacy and see how that goes.

I am on the 360 and I was thinking about turning it in for the ps3 version because I am having all kinds of fps problems with the game. I was wondering if the ps3 version has the same problems?

After several freezes I had some 1 second hiccups during gameplay. After I did the quick format none. With the PS3 I have has less freezes that I had with the 360. The only thing I even miss about the 360 is Fable 2 and 3.

Ok, I started two new legacies, one with an addition CAB for sort of a rivalry opponent and one without. The one with the additional imported CAB, who is a 98 overall that I put at #47 in the rankings, is fine so far. I can see his correct face when I look at the rankings. I am going to try to fight him ASAP and see how it works. Game is so much smoother since the quick format.

Ok thanks. I really like the game so I think i might turn it in to get the ps3 version. It just sucks because I got the champions pack already. the frames are just unbearable lately since the patch came out.

The other CAB was an ill fated attempt at Vernon Forrest, fyi. Anyway, this was a non-televised legacy 6 rounder. he was absolutely murdering me, when he loaded up on the power shot. EA had better not touch the jab offsetting to the head, lol. That was beautiful!

Anyway, you can see everyone has the right face. If you click the link you can see the further proof this was in legacy.

Apparently the quick format worked. I am going to start over and load more CAB's to see how it reacts. So far it is still really smooth. Hope it stays that way!

Re: To the PS3 users out there, I have eliminated some of the freezes I believe.

I need a little help. Thanks in advance.

              Background:
I bought FNC on release day and played it without problem for about a week. Then I had a shutdown in the middle of a fight that left the power light on my PS3 blinking. Google taught me that the blinking light indicated the system had overheated and shutdown. It hadn't been on for very long at the time, but system was close to 2 years old and has many, many hours of use. I let the PS3 cool down, vacuumed it out and tried again. I played for a little while before it shutdown again. I manged to play sparingly for a week or so before another shutdown.

So I figured that system was just about done for and decided to buy another one. I wanted to do the data transfer, so I didn't trade the old system in.

I bought a new PS3 today and did the data transfer. After I got everything setup, I went back to FNC. I had been playing for about a little over an hour when the system shutdown in the middle of a fight. This PS3 has less than 5 hours of use.

              Questions:
              1. You think the quick format thing will stop this?

              2. The main reason I wanted to do the data transfer is that I have some DLC that I paid for (WipeOut HD, some XP packs for FNC, etc.). Am I going to lose all that stuff if I do the quick format?

Did you transfer the old FNC files? Try deleting the user profile and creating a new one. The files might be corrupt. I created new files for FNC after the quick format. If your PS3 is new I wouldn't re-format.

Re: To the PS3 users out there, I have eliminated some of the freezes I believe.

The data transfer moved everything, including the FNC files.

Last night I deleted all the FNC files except the settings file, thinking XP packs were stored there. Started a legacy and played the amateur tourny and 1 pro fight. Didn't have a hard reset but lots of the little freezes.

This morning I did the quick format. All of the stuff I bought from the PSN Store can be redownloaded through the PSN/Account Management/Transaction Management/Download List, so I don't think I lost any of that. I haven't got WipeOut HD set back up yet, so I don't know about that for sure.

After the quick format, I put in the FNC disc and downloaded the update. I started a legacy and played the amateur tourny and 1 pro fight. Not much testing really, but not a single freeze.

                  Looks good so far.

BTW - it's nice to see a Hog fan representing down in Bammer country.

Yeah, and you have to take sides tween them and the bams. I pull for Aubie except one game of year. Maybe we'll start getting calls next time, lol. Auburn scored 60 but refs gave them 28. At least Ray "false start" Dominguez is gone.

Back on topic, i did have two freezes today. One, the EA servers logged me off while saving and the other my 6-month old kicked the stand the PS3 is on, jarring it. Looking forward to patch nonetheless.

                      Well...

I fought 19 fights in Legacy (23 if you count the amateur tourny) without a single freeze. I got to the point where I couldn't spend XP anymore and wanted to try a different build, since I felt like I had taken the fighter as far as I could. Retired my fighter and stared a Legacy with a new fighter.

Started noticing freezing during the amateur tourny.

I had been playing for about 4 hours though, so I figured there was a chance the PS3 just needed to cool down.

                      Nope.

I quit the game and ejected the disc, then let the system run for 5 or 10 minutes so the fan would blow while the system wasn't doing anything else. Turned the PS3 off and left it off for over an hour. Started it back up and noticed freezing in the first fight.

Quit the game and deleted all the FNC save files. Started the game, started a new Legacy and played through the amateur tourny without any freezes.

I don't know anything about how these things works, but it sure seems like there is a problem with the way the game saves files.

Just for clarity, what I'm calling a "freeze" is when the game will stall for about a second during a fight.

I had a lot of those hiccups. It won't be long before you have a shutdown, as mine did the same thing.

Ok, I can add 1 CAB opponent to legacy, anymore and they all look like the 1st one.

So far everything has been running smooth since I deleted the files and started over. Kinda lame that I have to do that, but at least there is a workaround.

The only CAB in my Legacy is my fighter so I'm not seeing that. However, I noticed that when I'm booking fights and whatnot it doesn't show the other boxers facial hair. Obviously not a deal breaker, I really don't even care.
