    Arcade Boxing....Could it work?

After playing WWE Allstars for a few days, and having a blast BTW, I got to thinking....could a game like this work for boxing. In the past arcade boxing was Ready 2 Rumble and the Rocky games.....but I mean could a boxing game like this work?

It would have to be better than Rocky(s) or R2R.

I don't know, if people want over the top type brutality, wouldn't they just pick up a fighting game.

But I'm actually suprised by the number of boxers I come accross online who look like Mortal Combat characters. I would think they would want to play a gruesome fighting game, but they got this game instead. Or maybe they are just kids who get a new game every month and this was a slow month.

It would be interesting to grab some market data on the subject.

No, it will not work. Facebreaker was proof. The WWE fan-base is so large and loyal they would buy a game with stick men with wrestler names above them.

Nah, I have played WWE Allstars and its FUN and deep enough to keep it competitive. Online is fun and competitive. I feel I can win with any of the characters.

of course it will work. Facebreakers gameplay mechanics were too simple to be anything more than a diversion.

With the right gameplay it could work. I really don't want them to try tho cuz you know it's going to be EA and they really need to get the sim boxing right first.

I love WWE Allstars too. It's a really fun, over-the-top game.
The controls are very simplistic and it works.
But what helps the game is the roster and the difference in each wrestler.

If you made an over-the-top boxing game with FNC's roster and each had their own style, it would work I think.

Please to my true boxing fans erase your post before the Fight Night producers see them and never move forward with bringing us a true sim game.

i don't think you can call it arcade just because it is not a very good boxing simulation.
