What else do I need to do besides clearing the cache.
Once you delete your cache, your tuner is deleted also. I tested this first hand. After clearing my cache, I played a few matches and had the kos and damage back of course, but didn't like the gameplay. I then got the patch and played some more. The jabs werent effective, and definately not as fast as they were post tuner. There was also no offsetting. Then I got the tuner again, and experienced the above.

How can you judge their adding of more stamina to be bad when you haven't played with the tuner sets/patch to see how it works?

I know someone who has the game, so I've played the full version (before any patches) and felt that stamina was already too high. You could already throw 100+ punches per round with anyone, and the overall pace of the game was just too fast. By adding more stamina I don't see how that's going to slow the pace or take punch stats down.

I hate that the stamina has been increased!! otherwise I like the new tuner.

i was 96-35 in owc and 33-8 in h2h, far from being a cheeser, never body spammed, considered myself a decent player

since this tuner i have yet to win a single round

every match ive played so far has featured guys throwing 100+ punches a round and winning most likely on that merit alone since i have consistently had a higher connect rate leading me to believe the scoring has been changed too

ive adapted over the years to everything but im not really interested in this whatsoever

Sounds like the only way to fix this is for the devs to change how fights are scored.
If Player A's connect rate was less than 30% and he threw >100 punches, and Player B connected at 40% with >30 punches, Player B wins the round.
              Something dumb like that.

These kind of impressions only reinforce my disdain for online play. That's all EA cares about today.
And because 90% of the people online wouldn't know a sport if they were slammed in the grill with one, they play unrealistically and want to be rewarded for it.
Guaranteed, a great, great majority of these cheesers online would love it if they only had to press A 100 times in order to win a fight.
They don't care how they win, just as long as they win. And EA caters to them.

Meanwhile, while the devs pour hours and hours into fixing online issues, the offline guys get the same stale legacy mode we've been fed for the past 20 years.

I'm just glad I didn't buy this game yet. It seems that all FNC has turned into is one giant cluster-bleep where the consumers are PAYING EA to be their beta testers.

I don't blame the devs. I really don't. I think they're given their orders from above and they have to stick to it. And the Suits in the offices tell them to cowtow to the masses even if it means making an unrealistic sports game.

I just wish they'd play NBA2K11 and see how well received a truly deep and simulated sports game can be.

Completely disagree. If you make these guys miss they are extremely vulnerable.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Coming Soon, Tuner Next Week to Fix Jab Spam

I think this goes to back to the argument of whether a game should be sim, or is having the mechanics necessary to beat cheesers enough.

You very well may be able to beat people who spam or throw 100+ punches every round, but IMO it shouldn't be something that has to be contended with in the first place.
In other words, the core problem hasn't been addressed. The unrealistic aspect is still there, they've just (possibly) given us a way to beat it.

The better route would have been to decrease the stamina, or at least not add to it. Then we would all be playing a realistic boxing sim and this wouldn't even be a discussion.

I think EA constantly sets their selves up for criticism when they market their games as being sim, or truly authentic, then once the game comes out, as Money99 says they don't even cater to the user base that they marketed the game to.

I blame the developers. The thirteen year olds who were crying already snagged their Mom's credit card and are off playing Mortal Kombat. The boxing fans are left with a pile of something that used to resemble boxing.

It is win at all costs online. After a failed attempt to delete the patch last night, I had the pleasure of fighting a body spammer. It doesn't even resemble the sport of boxing anymore.

You can't tune or patch people's behavior. The game at release needed a few rather minor changes but they catered to the gamefly whiners who have already moved on. But now they have opened pandora's box.

Bottom line, the game only has 3000 people online at any given time and the game sold over 1/2 million. I bet there are more offline players than online. I don't know what to say except I hope the next patch addresses the offline concerns.

The next big cheeser maneuver is to land 1-2's and run. So I bet they will nerf the cross because it will be abused and people will cry. Haven't we gone full circle? We wanted crosses to finally carry some weight. Like I said, you can't patch 13 year old whining human behavior.

I think the new age is definitely online gaming. You'r not going to have a successful franchise without online being a priority. NBA 2k has shown that you can create a product that won't be subject to improper human behavior. The devs just have to commit their selves to developing such a product. Again, you nerf the stamina and half these issues would be erased.

I would love to see the number of people who play this game online vs. offline. The problem is everyone wants to win at all costs. The game can be as sim as you want to make it, well before the patch anyway when fights could end at any time and there were TKO's. But there will always be an exploit and the win at all costs people will exploit it. You can't patch human behavior.

I thought prior to the 1st patch there was much more variety of fighter styles. I'll do some playing tonight and see what happens.

I want offline fixed and they can do whatever they want with online.

Edit: I can't get the stat columns to allign properly. Sorry that they are hard to read.

EA emails me the punch stats. Here are the punch stats from the 3 OWC games I've played today. It seems obvious to me that you can throw a lot more punches, especially modified blows, post-tuner.

These 3 were OWC fights. My OWC guy is an 82 OVR so most of my opponents have little power, making the fights last longer. I am also a conservative boxer. The first 2 fights went 10 rounds. I won the 1st by KO and the 2nd by decision.

This fight pissed me off. As you can see I made him miss a ton but he never slowed down. It felt like he was rewarded for jab spamming and throwing tons of modified crosses. But he wasn't punished for missing 66% of the time. Post-patch is also a lot harder to counter punch. This also makes it safer to throw 100+ punches per round.

The first two guys didn't do the zombie walk until round 9. The last guy never did. I think stamina only comes into play if the fight goes at least 9, even if they throw (and miss) a lot of punches.

In heavyweight H2H (I don't want to post more stats) all my fights are over by round 4. Everyone throws approximately 120 punches per round. Due to greater power, each fight is over quickly.

I agree that it is too easy to throw power punches and see very little stamina drain. I lost a fight last night to a guy that was continuously throwing a power straight. It was very hard to time it and counter, but I shouldn't have fought that fight. I was too tired and had too much going on. That's not to say I would have won because it is very hard to get around these guys throwing power straights. But, I do see fatigue, it's just not by way of zombie walk. Where it is in their vulnerability. Another fight I fought previous to the one I mentioned was a guy spamming the straight. He knocked me down twice in the early rounds but he was indeed fatigued my mid-fight. I then was able to bring him down 5 times to finally get the win.

It is by no means perfect for OWC. but I have said from say one these guys are going to continue to find exploits in this game and will live by their "win at all costs" philosophy. it's simply the nature of the beast.

The tuner addresses jab spamming. You can't argue that.
