I kept telling people throughout the late 90s and early 00s when RJJ was being heralded as potentially the most dominant boxer of all time that the only reason for all his success was because of who he was fighting. If he had not avoided Michalczewski and Calzaghe, he would have lost sooner.

We all saw what happened when there was a fighter who wasn't afraid of RJJ and stood in there and landed flush (See Tarver-Jones II). Lights out baby!

As for Mayweather, he's cut from the same cloth. He can claim that he doesn't need to fight Pac-man because he's undefeated and the best pound for pound fighter in the world all he wants (RJJ used the same excuses to duck opponents, by the way) but the fact of the matter is he knows it is a fight he is at risk of losing. Mayweather struggles with pressure fighters. Plus, I don't care what his record says, Mayweather actually lost to both Castillo and De La Hoya.
Completely disagree with this post. These issues have been discussed so many times in this forum that it is really not worth rehashing again.

I too rooted for jermain taylor. Too bad that his stamina was a liability

JT was rushed, like someone else said. He had the skills. I just wish Emmanuel could have gotten to him sooner and established a good regimen diet.

                    Manny Pacquiao.

                    "Manny knows TITLES"

                    Mayweather keeps ducking Pacquiao.

Pacquiao is my current fav. $$ Mayweather is a b**ch IMO. I can't stand that loud-mouthed idiot. Before Pac, I was a HUGE Roy Jones Jr. fan. Roy was ridiculously good in his prime. Wow! And since I am going to show my age here, I liked Evander Holyfield, Sugar Ray Leonard & Muhammad Ali as well. I saw the last few fights of Ali on tv live, most of Leonard's & pretty much all of Evander's fights. Boxing just isn't as great as it used to be. MMA pretty much is king now.

What? I don't think I will. I've been here since '03, there have been numerous discussions either about RJJ and level of comp, and PBF and level of comp(and Pac as well the last few years). People have had the same discussions, that is all.
