It would have been respectful to not let loose on a man that you can clearly see does not have his guard up because he doesnt think you are fighting.

I was glad that happened because I didn't want to watch 8 more rounds of that fight.

Exactly! Ortiz didn't have a chance after the first right hand from Floyd. Another question for the Ortiz lovers, why didn't he get up? The answer is he knew he lost the fight before the headbutt that's why he reacted as such

It's a boxing match not a verbal debate. Come ready to fight or go home.

Ortiz headbutted Floyd about 3 times, 2nd of which he got a warning for, 3rd of which a point was taken for. The cheap shots began with him; Floyd did not retaliate at first. Referee said "Lets Go", calling the fight to action, Victor should have been ready to fight at that time. Instead, he apologizes again, and Floyd tags him. Cheap shot? Perhaps... Victor's fault? Partially. Protect yourself at all times.

Why wouldn't he think they were fighting? The ref called for them to fight again and signaled for the clock to restart.

Exactly, so what's your beef? Floyd didn't break a single rule. He fought when he was told and defended himself at all times, as all boxers are taught.

Where's your gripe about Ortiz's dirty headbutting tactics? Which actually are against the rules.

You are honestly saying you think that Ortiz knew they were fighting. How many times during the rounds did you see him stand in front of Mayweather with his gloves at his side.

I mean honestly, how many times did he need to apologize. He had already hugged him, kissed him on the cheek AND tapped gloves before they moved over to the corner where he got put to sleep. I understand the glove tap right after it happened, but this is a boxing match, come to fight, not to make sure the other guy likes you.

Regardless, Ortiz had no chance, he had already lost the first four rounds and you know damn well the boxing "gods" wouldn't have let any other result be announced tonight other than a Mayweather victory. The result of this fight was determined LONG before this evening's festivities.

Just building more hype for Mayweather/Pacquiao.

Regardless of what was legal and what was illegal, both fighters displayed a complete lack of class. Can we at least agree on that?

Usually the ref makes a gesture with his hands signaling the fighters to resume boxing, not looking off into never never land.

I don't think anyone is saying that. Everyone (myself a Mayweather supporter) wanted to see it not end like that. But again Ortiz got what he had coming. Boxing fans especially guys like me who paid $70 got a raw deal, not just in this fight, but the quick stoppage in the Alvarez fight also.

If you have read what I posted I have. You are just so Pro Mayweather you cant see that I have said all along my issue is primarily with the ref, then with Ortiz then with Mayweather.

No one is trying to excuse what Ortiz did nor what the Ref failed to do. But this should not be a celebrated win for Mayweather.
