No logical person with any sense of fair play or sportsmanship could look at this fight and say that Mayweather proved himself today as the best in the world tonight, it is clear that the Ref and Ortiz did not think the fight has resumed, it is even more clear by the fact that Ortiz was looking at the ref to hand down some kind of penalty to Mayweather after the first hit so he never felt he had to put up his guard and the ref was not even looking at outside the ring during the whole exchange, another black eye for boxing.

from this replay you can see the ref does not even initiate the count he just starts off where the judge outside is up to.

The ref restarted the fight! Cortez said as much in the post fight interview

SO he restarted the fight and looked away, admitted he was not looking when Mayweather threw the punches did not initiate the 10 count but started at like 4 or 5 but I guess that is okay, Cortez knew he messed up and was trying to save his job, boxing is a joke and this fight is the biggest punchline.

The ringside ref started the 10 count. That's what there suppose to do.

PBF did what he did because he knew if the fight started again, he'd get knocked out.

It's the same reason why he's avoiding Pacquaio.

There are some basic truths that are being ignored or minimalized by people on both sides.

                  1. Floyd was winning the fight, 3-0 on two cards and 2-1 on the other.

                  2. Ortiz' headbutt was intentional. He used a leaping, lunging headbutt to cut (a nasty one at that). Floyds chin.

                  3. Floyd was going to win round 4 10-8, and there is no arguing that.

                  4. Cortez HAD I repeat HAD restarted the fight. He said "let's go!" and had given the corresponding hand signal.

                  5. Floyd had already touched gloves twice with Ortiz. No obligation to do it a 3rd time.

Having said all that. Floyd hit him with a cheap shot. I feel like Floyd just wanted to even the score he was cut. Knocking down Ortiz just gave him a 10-7 round, i think he expected Ortiz to get back up. Eye for an eye. If his cut got bad and it went to the cards he would have a 6 point lead after 4 rounds easy money.

Fight fans lost tonight. Plain and simple. I'm a huge Floyd fan but the way that fight ended I felt like I was robbed of my $70.

Based on what your bais, certainly not the 27 punches Ortiz had landed at that point in the fight.

Why can't it be both? Bernard Hopkins is known for that.

Wasn't willing to spend the dough on this one. I don't like Floyd but it seems to me like he did nothing wrong.

Do i think Floyd is afraid of Pac man, a little but not like most of his haters think. I believe he just wants to know without a shadow of a doubt that Pacquiao is clean before he fights him.

Because there is a big chance he can lose... as he could in any fight, difference is..... if he was to lose to Pacquiao, then he would know his undefeated record was taken away fair and square. If the fight happens Pac-Man's going down in the 10th round.

Ortiz should had put up his guard after the first punch, i have never seen anyone take a shot like that and not at least back up and put their guard up.
In that instant if Floyd wanted to be dirty about it... it would had been no pause between punches..... it would had been a quick 3 to 4 hit combo.

This type of thing happens a-lot in boxing, but most fighters are aware enough to put their guard up. Roy Jones would hit you any chance he had, like it or hate it's part of the sport.

I feel the same way, honestly. Last thing the refs say is protect your self at all times. Ortiz a young fighter in his first really big PPV and he forgot that and it cost him. Ortiz will be back he is young, strong, and humble. I can see he is a gonna be good.
