LOL. Thats BS. Manny was selling PPVs back in 2006. 2004 if you count the Marquez fight. Casual fans knew who Pac was back then.
Nobody is saying that there aren't good fighters. There always are good fighters. What we are saying is Boxing is running out of superstars. It has nothing to do with talent.
I'll give you an example: I had a fight party Saturday and people assumed Floyd was the champ because a) he's undefeated and b) he was promoted as the bigger fighter. They were shocked when I told them Floyd doesn't have a belt but Ortiz does. They were confused when I told them that there are 4 different belts in that division and only one was on the line.
You know what most people said walking out of my party "Had fun but I would never pay for a boxing match." It seems like most boxing matches fail to live up to the hype now a days. Whether its Saturdays fight or the Klitchkos last fight or Mosley v. Pac, its disappointment after disappointment. The last great fight I saw was Morales v. Maidana and most people didn't see that fight.
I'm not saying I'm satisfied by every MMA PPV. But I can say that I'm satisfied with most of them and rarely feel like I threw my money away.
