Simply amazing. Lot's of warnings, which will provide fodder for those who want to take away from this victory. But honestly, Hopkins landed way too many straight right hand leads with aggression, not just counter-punches, to be denied. I had it 115-113, and I could have seen it 2 points more for Hopkins. Honestly, to echo a previous comment, I can't believe this guy beat Chad Dawson. Big puncher, but very little boxing skill (which may be a bit harsh considering he was in the ring with a fighter who may be THE best defensive boxer in history).

One side comment on advertising: Screw every one of those advertisers with an ad on that mat and screw every boxer who paints some silly .com ad on his back. And while were at it screw whoever couldn't figure out how to neutralize the effect of those ads on slips (I know, only Pascal was slipping, but still). We can recover a crippled spacecraft from the depths of space and save astronauts using the computing power found in a Texas Instruments calculator, but we can't figure out how to put ads on a boxing canvass that aren't slippery? This HAS to be a sign of Armageddon.

Nope i agree with you as him being the greatest....though i am biased as B Hop has been my favorite fighter for years now. But still last night i don't think I've ever seen him be as aggressive offensively ever.

This actually made the small bylines on CNN's website. Although it was with the inauspicious tag line "Boxer, 46, becomes oldest world champ. Really? Forget for a second that he set the record for being the oldest champ. Hopkins is perhaps one of the top 10-15 boxers of all time. And that's what he rates? "Boxer" WTF? Which then begs the questions: (1) Is CNN this out of touch with boxing? (2) Does CNN think its readers/viewers are that out of touch with boxing?(3) Am I just way too in touch with boxing?

Hopkins landed so many lead right hands it became silly. Pascal landed some big shots but was never able to follow up quickly. Pascal was just throwing haymakers without any sort of set up moves. Those whiffed punches will just wear a fighter down.

Lol at hopkins making references to roy jones, and basically saying he is doing everything the opposite way at the end of his career post fight with kellerman.

I give him props for the post fight interview for his assessment of Pascal. Without hearing the fight annoucers he gave a good acknowledge to Pascals' talent. Though him fighting Boute I don't think is a smart fight though.
