Probably because RJJ is an all-time great and the ref would be questioned just as much on the flip side for stopping the fight too early, not that I agree with the ref.

I wish he would have retired a long time ago. He's one of my all time favorite fighters and has shamed himself with performances like this last fight. Money problems are really no excuse either, HBO will pay him top dollar just to sit there and be Roy Jones Junior.

Damn, after tonight, it sounds like he's still going to continue to fight...

Frankly, I loved Roy Jones but he could never take punch and I think Floyd could be the same way, his uncle roger was rather chinny, I just think Floyd is a complete fighter whereas Roy had otherworldly talent.
... even before that in 1996 old man mike mccallum(40 at the time) hurt jones in their fight but didn't have what it took to finish the job.

I watched the McCallum fight live but I barely remember it. I will have to watch it again next week. I was not that interested BECAUSE McCallum was 40 years old.

i remember it was quick. the commentators were busy talking about something else that they said nothing about mike hitting roy. same type of punch that tarver KO'd him with.

i think it was 5 ,6 or 7..somewhere in there.
