FNC: Online is so messed up.

I have been playing online all day and it is becoming more and more apparent how screwed up it is. I started out 5-2 with my 78 overall boxer. I was 2-1 against 90 overall boxers with 1 KO. Now I am 11-10. How did I become so bad all of a sudden? You tell me.

My latest match was just a wreck. I was KO'd in under a minute into the 3rd round, but I don't know how. I typically play as a counter puncher type guy and when looking at the stats, through about 7 minutes of boxing I was 24/35 with my counter punches. Every single one was either a straight or hook. My hook isn't that strong, but my straight is the highest level attribute on my boxer. I just want to know how I didn't even rock the guy one time with that many counter punches that quickly.

Also, when i do end up rocking people, I can land 10 straight punches and still not knock them down, but I'll get stunned and the first punch always goes through my block and knocks me down. It never fails.

I really want to like this game, but with all the problems it has it is hard to do so. Judges don't have a clue how to score. My first loss came when I stunned a guy 13 times through 10 rounds while he stunned me once and knocked me down in rounds 9 and 10. He deserved to win those two rounds, but the other 8 I stunned the guy at least once and landed at least 10% more shots than him. Guess how many rounds I won... one round. Yep, I stunned the guy every round and only won one of those.

The judges just score based off the highest punch count. They don't care about connect %'s or anything to that nature. You could go 5/200 every round and your opponent could go 15-25 and they would win. There are two problems with that. First any boxer who throws 200 punches, or even over 50-60 every round is going to be completely gassed. Not in this game though. The other problem is that guy obviously can't box if he hits 5 times in 200 attempts.

I know there is a patch coming out, but is it going to fix these problems? And will it also fix it to where a person can get their hand stuck in your block and throw little one inch punch jabs that do full damage? I was knocked down twice last match because of that. If the guys hand is stick in my block, then his little one inch punches are going to be weak, and I should be able to nail him perfectly with a powerful straight hand, but neither happen.

    Really frustrating....

It is messed up. The worst thing they did to it was make those xp packs available for purchase. However, I'm hoping the next patch will help things some.

I just want to know why counter punches don't affect others online, but one can flash knock me down. Before I upgraded my straight hand, it worked like magic, but now that it is my best punch it hardly, if ever, works.

I am now 11-11 because this last match had this guy throw almost 500 punches in just a little over 4 1/2 rounds. How ridiculous is that? I don't want to play anything but the OWC because it can be really fun, but it is extremely frustrating when spamming jabs is the most successful style out there. Even if you throw 100 jabs a round, hitting only 20% of them can easily win you the round with how this game is judged.

Head To Head online is much better than OWC.

Does it not have players throwing jabs all fight and throwing 50+ punches a round? I may be in the minority, but I want a boxing game that is just like the real sport. I don't want the action packed EA style where me and the other guy trade upper cuts and hooks for 10 straight seconds, take a break, throw 10 jabs, and so on. I want to actually box.

Well, I am done with this game for now. Just played another match in OWC and had a guy throw 100+ punches a round, 50 were hooks, and 30-40 per round were power shots. I had three times the counter hits as him, twice the accuracy, and I rocked him once a round, yet I never scored a knockdown and was eventually KO'd myself on one punch that hit my glove when my guard was up.

EA seriously screwed this game up pretty bad.

Re: FNC: Online is so messed up.

With FNC you have what the game already is and then what various online gamers bring into the mix. Them introducing "tuner sets" really throws a wrench in it. At the start of the game, before anything was touched with a patch or tuner set, some felt punch accuracy, blocking and stamina were off. So the first tuner set addressed those things but then opened up windows for other exploits like continuous jabs to the body with little ability to block. Punch accuracy was also odd in that you would miss very open punches.

Then comes the second tuner that would address body jabbing, and while it did, that tuner once again put stamina in a different spot to where power punches could be thrown with very little drain in power or stamina. Punch accuracy is still off some.

It's as if they are getting further away from the core of the game to where it doesn't change with the individual changes they do. But I don't know that it can. I think what we have is a first time effort by the devs with tuners where it's like they are learning as they go. But it makes for a very odd experience at times.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.
