My latest match was just a wreck. I was KO'd in under a minute into the 3rd round, but I don't know how. I typically play as a counter puncher type guy and when looking at the stats, through about 7 minutes of boxing I was 24/35 with my counter punches. Every single one was either a straight or hook. My hook isn't that strong, but my straight is the highest level attribute on my boxer. I just want to know how I didn't even rock the guy one time with that many counter punches that quickly.
Also, when i do end up rocking people, I can land 10 straight punches and still not knock them down, but I'll get stunned and the first punch always goes through my block and knocks me down. It never fails.
I really want to like this game, but with all the problems it has it is hard to do so. Judges don't have a clue how to score. My first loss came when I stunned a guy 13 times through 10 rounds while he stunned me once and knocked me down in rounds 9 and 10. He deserved to win those two rounds, but the other 8 I stunned the guy at least once and landed at least 10% more shots than him. Guess how many rounds I won... one round. Yep, I stunned the guy every round and only won one of those.
The judges just score based off the highest punch count. They don't care about connect %'s or anything to that nature. You could go 5/200 every round and your opponent could go 15-25 and they would win. There are two problems with that. First any boxer who throws 200 punches, or even over 50-60 every round is going to be completely gassed. Not in this game though. The other problem is that guy obviously can't box if he hits 5 times in 200 attempts.
I know there is a patch coming out, but is it going to fix these problems? And will it also fix it to where a person can get their hand stuck in your block and throw little one inch punch jabs that do full damage? I was knocked down twice last match because of that. If the guys hand is stick in my block, then his little one inch punches are going to be weak, and I should be able to nail him perfectly with a powerful straight hand, but neither happen.
Really frustrating....
