Glenn Johnson VS Carl Froch-Showtime-Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on HBO-

Froch and the "old man" (Johnson) go at tonight in the semifinals for the right to face Andre Ward for the Super Six championship.

Mikkel Kessler faces an apparent setup match with Mehdi Bouadla (22-3, 10 KO’s). The fight will precede the live action Froch-Johnson on Showtime. It will be taped delayed more than likely taking place around 4:30 or 5PM actual time, so if you don't want to know the results avoid a "Kessler Google" this afternoon.

On HBO the son of a boxing great goes for his first major boxing title. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr faces light hitting champion Sebastian Zbik for the WBC middleweight title. The winner will probably get Sergio Martinez who was wrongly stripped of that title a few months ago.

    Kessler just annihilated that guy.

Johnson made a great effort, but his speed and reflexes were just not enough to keep pace with Froch. Gotta love that apparently blind japanese judge who had it 114-114 lol. Froch vs Ward should be awesome, especially after that post fight interview.

180 pound middleweight!?!? WTH!?!? Chavez got the decision win while landing less punches, less power punches, and at a lower connect percentage. The body assault was impressive but Zbik did enough to win imo. I expected better from Chavez, and the judges. Looks like Martinez would destroy either of them though, so I guess it didn't matter who got the nod. Martinez vs Chavez is the bigger ticket, and probably had something to do with the way it was scored.

Chavez wore Zbik down with the body shots, but still narrowly escaped a loss. Zbik came to fight, just doesn't have the bang. Sergio Martinez will beat Chavez, but I doubt the fight happens soon.

Haven't seen the other fights yet, and don't know the outcome of either.

Good night of fights all around. Chavez Jr doesn't stand a CHANCE against someone with power.

Froch/Johnson was a very good fight. Can't wait for Froch/Ward.

Chavez Jr's fight plan worked. I felt some of those body shots. Zbik faded in the last 6-7 rounds. IMO if had an once of stopping power behind his punches he puts Chavez Jr down twice and wins easily. He was game but as the fight worn on the Chavez Jr clearly separated himself.

That said I would like to point out today's example of why boxing is a joke. Chavez Jr is wearing Sergio Martinez's belt. Martinez would destroy Chavez Jr if they were to fight.
