The best fighting game ever...
I know allot might disagree, but I've played this game countless times. This is the best fighting game ever made. I haven't played Streetfighter, Tekken etc.. so my opinon may be mis construed. Allot of players complain about this game, I understand you guys want perfection, but nothing is perfect. I wish instead of complaining you guys would give this game props. Give the devs props , they did a great job. THis is a awesome game. When you strip it down, there is no combat game that compares. I will argue that point with anyone. Give this game some cred fellasxXxDrUnKeN_MaStAxXxTags: None -
Re: The best fighting game ever...
Are you saying that it plays more like an arcade fighter than a sports game? -
Re: The best fighting game ever...
I don't think that's what he's saying at all. I believe that there are elements of both sports, and arcade in FNC, based on how you tune the game. For instance: if you use the default settings, and maybe jack up power and speed, you have an arcade fighting game right there. Whereas if you use more sim-style sliders, and edit boxer ratings/tendencies, you have a boxing game. That's what I like about FNC, that I think most people overlook: the customization ability.Comment

Re: The best fighting game ever...
I agree that this is the best fighting game ever....I only enjoy fighting sims, so this takes the cake for me.
Tried UFC 1,2 EA MMA
all the previous fight nights....
fight night champion with the last patch ( no tuners) is an awesome sim game offline.
1)Stamina makes a difference and you just can't rock em sock em to get consistent wins. If you do, you better KO your opponent in the first 4 rounds, if not, you will lose 99 times out of 100.
2) Each fighter has their strenghts. Big men have their straights and brawlers have their inside hooks and Uppercuts. This is huge because in previous fight nights, to hurt people you can only depend on hooks and uppercuts. Straights were way too weak. So if you use wlad or lennox, in order to hurt the opponent, you need to fight differently than what those guys do in real life, set their distance jab and straights.
3) Fights will have different outcomes and you can't figure out the cpu opponent. This is VERY IMPORTANT for offline play. In past games, say you used Holyfield vs Tyson. Once you beat Tyson and figured him out...that's it. You wont lose to tyson again using holyfield. not so in this game. The presence of flash KDs and KOs and how close each match is will yield different results.
case in point:
tyson vs lewis
I had a win ( KO), loss KO, loss decision, win KO
great game offline!Comment

Re: The best fighting game ever...
They broke alot of things....just search the forums and you'll be able to see it. The game was fine at launch. Never actually seen a company sabotage their own game with patches and tuners like fight night has.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: The best fighting game ever...
The patch that I have right now really punishes over-punching and backward movement (running).....and it also has 1pko.....
I heard the latest tuners has a better damage model, but I just didn't want to risk it on the gameplay since I've edited a bunch of boxers tailor-made for this latest patch, Plus I edit down their cut/sweeling by 40 points each and it yields a good damage model.
the fighter tendencies man, you can really mold a cpu boxer to mimic their real-life counterpart. Offline in this game is very very underrated, but it's hard to blame others who don't give it a chance.
you HAVE to edit boxers tendencies, and that process while not too long, takes a while to understand. But for the people who take the time to do this, they will end up with a very satisfying boxing sim.Last edited by phillyfan23; 10-22-2011, 04:26 PM.Comment

Re: The best fighting game ever...
Too many sudden freezes and power offs for me when playing FNC. I traded two great games for it, got screwed. After the cluster that was NCAA12 I'm done with EA in those two franchises, as well as Madden.Comment
