this could be a great fight! i'll be cheering for Kirkland, but i think this could be a tough matchup for him stylistically. i think Angulo will win by a late round TKO.

The last time I saw Angulo was a couple of years ago losing a decision to Kermit Cintron-as a matter of fact I think we had a forum discussion on that fight. Since then Angulo has reeled off 5 consecutive KO's, 4 of them inside of three rounds.

Kirkland on the other hand got KOed in the first by light hitting Nobuhiro Ishida.

Max Kellerman thinks Kirkland is getting "fed to" Angulo-that's a strong opinion.

Tough to see Kirkland winning this fight but I'll fire up my DVR for it. Currently Angulo is a strong 4-1 favorite.

This fight will happen on the same night as Lucian Bute vs Glen Johnson for the IBF Super Middleweight title. Both are not PPV fights.

Very reminiscent of Hearns when he fought Hagler.... Angulo completely punched himself out in the 1st rd and never got a second wind. Big props to Kirkland.... he showed alot of heart and was in great physical condition!!!

An amazing fight. Kirkland's performance was truly inspirational, as was Angulo's heart. Hopefully there are no long-term health consequences suffered due to his resiliency.

What happened? It looked like Angulo punched himself in the first round.

Great win for Kirkland.

That's basically it. He had Kirkland on queer-street 30 seconds into the 1st-round.
He then proceeded to punch himself out and never fully recovered.

I'm sure if Angulo had a magic pill to allow him to do that last 2:30 of round 1, things would have ended differently.
But he didn't, and Kirkland showed a massive amount of savey and heart to not only survive but knock Angulo down himself.

I would absolutely pay money to watch him take on Saul Alverez next. That would have fireworks all over it.
But I wonder if he'll want a rematch with Ishida next? Although, like Kellerman said, I'm sure if Ishida was watching this fight, he must be thinking he got away lucky and wants no part of another fight with Kirkland.
