I have a few questions about FNC. I'm a bit of a n00b to the world of boxing, but I would love to learn the sport. I'm currently using sliders from these forums, the latest tuner set and I'm winning the majority of my fights (9-3-0 4KOs).
In case it helps with answering a few of my questions, my build is a 6'0" 140 lbs. Welterweight with a 70" reach. I'm an unconventional fighter who relies more on speedy jab, straight combo than sheer power with hooks and uppercuts. I regularly go to the body in the early rounds, but do a lot of counter punching to the head with right hooks.
Here are my questions and concerns:
How come the CPU can clinch so well when they are stunned, but when I try, I can only hug air while he's lighting up my face?
Continuing on the trend of CPU being stunned ... how come they can block so many punches coming in, but again, when I'm stunned they can punch through my block? That doesn't seem right, am I missing something? Feels like the only way to not go down when stunned with mid-to-low health is to start punching back, which doesn't seem right. I focused many of my early points toward defense (blocking, head movement, chin, and heart) but I still get lit up by opponents who throw an exorbitant amount of punches.
I can never seem to cut the opponent, only make his eye swell up like a softball. Meanwhile, the CPU can cut me within the first three rounds, forcing me to stay on the outside (where I'm more comfortable, mind you). Now, before you start telling me to play better defense, my opponents are regularly landing punches in the high 20s, low 30s percentage-wise, while I'm in the 50's. What is the secret to opening up some cuts on the CPU?
Finally, where are you guys spending your points? I'm thinking I made a mistake and should have went Conventional rather than Unconventional since I like the jab-straight combo and stick and move. Recently, I've been focusing on adding to combos, right hook (my power punch) and my straight. I've noticed that the game really opens up for you once you hit the 6-punch combo threshold.
Thanks for any help you guys can provide!
