Re: What did you like about Fight Night Champion.....
I don't remember much about it except they dropped the ball again. They should of combined the career mode with story mode because I don't care about fictional characters EA has created for a supposedly SIM game. I'm sure those idiots at EA are spending more on actors then gameplay!!! Give me a Mike Tyson story mode using ESPN Sportscentury clips or something relevant to boxing history. You've paid ESPN & Tyson millions so put them to good use! You know what? Screw the story mode all together, that's last years trash!!! I want Promoter mode! A boxing franchise that rivals MLB the Show! I want an never ending boxing sandbox! Where I compete with Top Rank, and Golden Boy, constantly looking for boxers to sign & recruit into my stable, my decisions will make or break their careers.Last edited by game20ver; 02-04-2012, 06:41 PM.Comment

Re: What did you like about Fight Night Champion.....
The game before the patches and tuners..
I still fun.. only when you play vs people who fight in the spirit of the sport.. Previously the cheaters would have hell to pay.. but now its a free for all idk even know if its a boxing game anymore..more like a fighting game.because of the free reign that the absent minded devs gaveComment

Re: What did you like about Fight Night Champion.....
I've said it before, but if 2K Sports had took time to present a Prize Fighter without horrendous scoring, inexcusable collision detection, and sluggish controls they would have set the foundation for a superior boxing game.
I really liked the way footwork was utilized.Last edited by JayBee74; 02-07-2012, 07:56 AM.Comment

Footwork has been Fight Night's biggest issue imo and they really need to look at fixing that before adding any new features to this franchise.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: What did you like about Fight Night Champion.....
The game was SICK at the community day! Excellent stamina usage for punches which made the game very strategic!
Day 1 release was slightly worse but still playable.
Game after numerous patches + Tuners = Complete disaster. Add in dozens of bugs and freezes + sliders not working and you got one of the biggest disappointments for me last year.
Just go back to Victorious Boxers and be done with it guys. I did

Re: What did you like about Fight Night Champion.....
In a boxing game if I fight Tyson or Foreman, I want to be able to tell the difference between the 2 fighters because outside of the one punch KO power they both had, Foreman and Tyson fought nothing alike. Tyson was a cat quick predator who used angles and speed to attack with his power, while Foreman was a stalker and was known for that stiff jab that set up his opponent for the straight right.
Now FNC says all these things are "in the game" but when you fight either one of these guys, there are only a couple of things that distinguish them when in reality the differences between the two are night and day. There's still hope for EA and this title if they rethink their formula and add more authenticity to the game like real physics and boxer individuality. And BTW, make a game where the sliders actually mean something too. It's 2012, EA. That shouldn't be something fans should have to be requesting.Comment

Re: What did you like about Fight Night Champion.....
I loved meeting the dev crew and they all were real passionate about the game and sport of boxing. So it confused me even more when tuners start completely messing the game up. I couldn't understand it. Then I was one of the first to find the sliders issue, I found they were not working before the game even released. The response and how it was handled is what left a horrible taste in my mouth. My posts about it were deleted and I was basically told to quit talking about it. I informed steve about the slider issue and a front page story of it hit OS, then had to tell Steve to pull it down due to them asking me to quit talking about it. So I felt like it was deceiving people to a degree.
Game released March 1st, I found these issues about a week before the game was released.
Welcome to EA Forums, where you can chat about games with other players, help each other out, share feedback, and report issues you’re having with EA games.
So with all that said, I HOPE (Fingers crossed) that brizzo & them can get it together to create a boxing game worthy of representing the real sport.Last edited by Phobia; 02-08-2012, 04:36 PM.Comment

Re: What did you like about Fight Night Champion.....
I still have confidence that EA could improve this game but with "out of the box" thinking in some areas.
Boxing unlike field and arena season based sports, doesn't really change. Outside of the cosmetics like apparel or the venues, boxing inside the ring is pretty consistent. We've seen every style possible, the only thing that changes is the way someone executes that style which is still usually pretty consistent. That should work to their advantage.
For a game like FN, that mixes legends and current fighters, the replay ability should be through the roof. This game felt like it could of been that early on...but then came the misguided patches that took out stuff that didn't need to be touched. And then the sliders didn't work. Oh and then blood and damage was taken out. "Oh, our bad, we're gonna put that back in for you guys", but by that time, enough was enough for most fans. EA was their own worst enemy when you think of how many times they messed with this game only to make it worse each time.Comment

Re: What did you like about Fight Night Champion.....
^^^ Yeah, clearly the wrong feedback. They caved to the pleadings of the button mashers because everything they did was slanted towards the casual and not the true boxing fan. I get that they're trying to sell games and I never thought the game was great either, but the early version of the game, although not perfect, was a lot more enjoyable than the latter versions. Also, how do you have a game that has sliders that don't work and as Phobia pointed out early? It just seems like, just like it is with Madden, that EA's interpretation of what "real" is, always seems to be distorted.Last edited by iLLmatic; 02-09-2012, 12:25 AM.Comment
