Trying to watch the fight but both tvs with hbo are being used in my house. I've been wanting to check out more of chavez to see what all the hype around him is about, i have only seen him fight like a few times i think. I don't really know much about rubio. Heard this could be a slugfest though.

Lol I'm thinking the same thing about those glasses! My best guess is he's Paying tribute to Harry Carey.

Eh, fight was just decent. Chavez really isn't as good as people make him out to be. A good boxer would give him trouble, his headfirst style of relying on his chin while he goes to the body is gonna bite him in the ***. I think Canelo would probably beat him easily.

The problem is he won't be in any trouble with good boxers. He is "Chavez Junior", the son of a living legend. He should never lose. His fights were mostly cherry picked for his very important collection of wins. I could be wrong though but he will never fight big names.

I wasn't impressed by the fight and very unimpressed by Julio Cesar Chavez.

Marco Antonio Rubio was a guy that an "on the skids" Kelly Pavlik beat the crap out of.

He's gonna have a Sugar Ray Robinson Win record by the time he fights a viable opponent..

He's not but I really don't know what to think about him. He's improved but I don't know if he can be a serious contender.

It was even funnier listening to the announcers hype up Rubio before the fight and during the first few rounds like he had some magical knockout power, then as the fight progresses they ease back and say he doesn't have true knockout power and really only beat an overrrated lemuieux...LOL

i was somewhat impressed with JCC JR , but i need to see how he does against an opponent with a good jab and good foot work before i become a 'believer'.

Chavez can barley make 160, only a matter of time before he is at 168-175. His style of fighting is gonna get him knocked out at higher weight classes. He has fought nothing but scrubs but he gets a pass on that because he's had no amateur career. He is pretty much learning on the job.
