See this is what's wrong with Boxing....

Among other things, but how the hell does Tony Thompson get two titleshots? The most known opponent on his record is Owen Beck.

The supposed threat to Klitschko(s) was David Haye and we all know how that turned out.

      How about Tyson Fury?

Fury would be interesting, but i don't think he's ready yet. he's still a little raw. he needs to build up his stamina before he gets in the ring with a Klitschko.... with that said, i think he's probably a year or two away from cleaning up the heavyweight division if he continues to improve.

Tyson Fury has the best name in boxing since Clubber Lang.

David Price is another huge 6'8 heavyweight from the UK and he's looking a more promising prospect than Fury IMO.

Yeah, Price is untested, but he's smooth and can hit. LOL, he crushes Tom Dallas with a right, and shows no emotion. It turns out Dallas is a good friend.

Hate to say it, but the heavyweight division is garbage. The Klitchko's have cleaned out the division. Lots of pretenders and mouth pieces but not a lot of real talent. Haye is a cruiserweight and he is probably the next retread to get a shot.

The ex-football player from Michigan St. (Seth Mitchell) name escapes me is about the next great hype. He handled adversity in his last fight, but he isn't ready for the Klitchko's yet and might not be while they are in their prime, but he is the next great american heavyweight. It's late and the name escapes me, but we all know who I am talking about.

yeah mitchell is pretty good, but he's 30 years old.... a little too old to be considered a "prospect" imo. nonetheless, he is fun to watch!!!

Many of these heavyweights don't help themselves when they go and take on untested and unknown prospects. Why don't these guys fight each other to test themselves and improve. Tough fights are tough for a reason, so you can see what you are made of.

I talked to a local heavyweight with only 3 bouts, 4th coming in september. He wants to become world champion - he's 6'5" 225lbs ... and he was honest, he said by the time he's ready to challenge he hopes both are retired (and they will be) They are like superheavyweight machines and he said it's not their skill but really their size and strength that's just flat out too much to deal with. I bet loads of would-be contenders are just waiting for them to both be done so they can have a viable shot at the title - until then I believe the consensus is, is that it's just hopeless...

I disagree with your the guy. Size has nothing to do with it. I'm 5'10 1/2 and fought guys as an amateur who towered over me....matter of fact look how Big Nicolay Valuev was. If it wasn't for Emmanuel Steward and them coming into boxing at the right time they wouldn't be around now.

Boxers who came in boxing at the right time, Rocky Marciano, Lennox Lewis, and the Klitschko Brothers. Some may say Mike Tyson but I still say a focus Tyson would put down any heavyweight. No matter what people say about Tyson opponents and the fear they had in the fights. Wouldn't they rather quit on the stool then let Tyson knock them out? Bum or not everybody isn't going to lay down if Tyson never had power.
