Well if not EA then you have to go for 2K or the UFC Undisputed devs/THQ, I vote for THQ based on rubbish PrizeFighter was.Last edited by MattyEdgeworth; 07-25-2012, 10:40 AM.

You notice the poll has 2K/Visual Concepts combo? Visual Concepts had nothing to do with Prizefighter. 2K hired an outside source (Venom Games Inc.) to make that game. They should have used their in studio team. VC has a pretty good team who are great at the details of a sport.Poe is an advocate for realistic boxing videogames.Comment

Sadly, I'm not sure there's enough money in the boxing video game world for another company to take a chance on it.
If EA couldn't make a go of it, with it's deep roster, I'm not sure anyone can.
Even the highly rated VB games haven't made a sequel for their Japanese fans in a long, long time.
Honestly, I think our best bet for a good boxing game may have to come in the form of a tablet, or Facebook game.
Imagine if someone took the Ring Kings engine and then added a deep career mode to it?
People would have to feed, train and manage their guy - all from the comfort of their PC on Facebook or some other app.
And when their fighter is ready they fight another online person's pugilist.
You could even have a stable of fighter.
It would be like Farmville for boxing nerds.
The Ring King engine and graphics are dated, but the engine is actually still pretty good and the graphics are perfect for a Facebook game.
Food for thought.Comment

I voted for EA -- Fight Night is right there -- they just need to listen to the right guys in the community to get the game right.#WashedGamerComment

That's what I thought but you ahevto think that with all the other Fight Night and Knockout Kings games if they haven't got it yet they'll probably never get it right.

That's good then, I'd go with them if its not the team behind PrizeFighter. I would have voted for EA because at least they have a base, something to work on but then again they;ve had their chances and each time they haven't given us simulation boxing.

If they zone out that crowd and attempt to make a simulation of the sport they will be fine. The game looks amazing -- just need to do a couple things to get the gameplay right. Also, the things FN needs to be a great game should be able to be accomplished in one cycle -- no overhaul needed -- they have a very solid foundation IMO.#WashedGamerComment

There are so many crappy games on the market so the gaming industry has the money to make a boxing game amist all the layoffs and companies closings.
Yeah, but I think its because they are not listening to the right guys -- like SHAKYR mentioned, their forum is full of the 'Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots' crowd.

I have 13 plus years of boxing experience and I thought they would listen to me. They just wanted somebody the Fight Night Community looked up to close by so it seemed like I supported their decisions.
Fight Night is too much of a hybrid game arcade/sim. They think sim/realism will not sell. They can't say or think this without actually trying first.Poe is an advocate for realistic boxing videogames.Comment
