A world title shot after only 12 fights. Not bad.

Wladimir Klitschko has all the belts (including Ring Magazine's) except the WBC which is held by Bermane Stiverne. But Klitschko is universally recognized as the champ.

I believe his first pro fight was at age 28 and he didn't fight regularly until he was 30-31

        So he is now 32.

His perspective and his trainer Syd Vanderpool is that they had to put everything on a rushed time-scale. Each opponent for the most part was a big step-up from the previous one, and Denton's first opponent with a massive experience gap was Richard Hall who fought Roy Jones back in the day.

If he took the regular road of fighting cans until you're 15-10 fights undefeated he may have completely missed the boat in that case.

It is impressive the ground he has been able to cover, but he's also a phenomenal athlete. He trains with heavyweights a lot and many of his past opponents have retired after fighting him, including sparring partners. He doesn't have that consistent 1-punch KO power, but his shots hurt and have a lasting impact.

this should be a very interesting fight, I expect Kalenga to try and hunt him down hitting him with big shots trying to take his head off and Denton to try and wear him down and suck all of his confidence away with his athletic ability and completely neutralize him as he's done all of his previous opponents.

Man, Hopkins is dedicated. No drinking, no smoking, no soft drinks...no wonder he's so well preserved.

I'm not making any predictions. I'm just going to enjoy the fight. At this point the only outcome that would surprise me is B-Hop knocking Kovalev out.

Win or lose, i have the utmost respect for B-Hop. recently saw an interview with him from about a year ago which included a GREAT quote - "i come from a different era of boxing, which isn't the era of today....i just happen to be here."

I don't like Bernard Hopkins or his style but he deserves all the respect out there. Guy is 49 years old and is still boxing at the highest level. If he beats Kovalev he is a top 25 or so fighter all time imo. The longevity he has had is unreal.

Keith Thurman will be fighting undefeated, light hitting Leonard Bundu on the December 13 Khan-Alexander undercard.

It's weird, i used to hate watching hopkins and didn't care for him at all. But i kinda became a late fan around when he beat kelly pavlik. Gained a lot of respect for him, and he's pretty intelligent. He's really dedicated. I know floyd doesn't drink or smoke, but hopkins doesn't even drink soda.

Also, bad news is i didn't get the overtime i wanted for this weekend, but i had forgot about this fight coming up when i tried to get it. I'll definitely be watching this on saturday. Hyped.

Good fight. Ok NOW, i'm actually sold on kovalev. He boxed really smart. I was surprised with how patient and effective he was, and i've never seen hopkins neutralized like that. Granted, hopkins didn't take a horrible beating, but he definitely got taken to school by kovalev. Impressive win for him.

Also, gotta give hopkins credit, he took some of kovalevs punches really well. And that last round was crazy. That's really impressive.

Yeah, wild final round......less wild then I thought because Kovalev wasn't the least bit hurt by that left hook.

Hopkins probably fought the only fight he could. Tread water and hope to sneak something in, especially later in the fight.

Who would have thought Kovalez would dominate the fight without a knockout? Who would have thought all three judges would have given Kovalez EVERY round?

entertaining bout. impressed with both men for different reasons: impressed that a 49 year old could go the distance against Krusher. VERY impressed with Krusher's patience and technical ability. i don't see anyone taking Kovalev's belts any time soon...

Almost ditto, but Stevenson might prove a challenge. I don't think Ward has the stomach for it at 175.

At this point after seeing this fight, i think ward is the only one to beat kovalev. And i think he beats him at 175 too. Stevenson could pose a threat though.

Stevenson always has a puncher's chance, but he doesn't seem to want any part of fighting Kovalev right now....at least that seems to be the general perception

It might be hard making this fight with Ward's current schedule of fighting once every 2 years.

Will Stevenson and Kovalev ever happen now that Stevenson is locked in with Showtime?
On the outside looking in, I don't think Stevenson wants any part of Krusher. Especially after that performance.
