    Bradley vs Provodnikov

Anybody watching this war ? atleast through 2 rounds they are brawling.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

What a fight. Bradley finally goes down after getting rattled several times. Great fight.

I really needed this after the GSP yawnfest card.

Ruslan was screwed as the first round was clearly a knockdown. Ref can't miss that.

Missed the fight. Did any of the judges give Provodnikov a 10-8 in either the first or second round?

No but how the judges scored the fight Bradley would still have won even with the Knockdown

                Negative.

                Would have been a draw.

Yeah, a majority draw (which most draws are).

                  115-112, 114-113, 114-113 Bradley would have become:

                  115-113, 114-114, 114-114

Holy cow, guys...that was a really violent fight. Tim Bradley has a chin of granite, but may have more guts than is good for his health. How was he still standing after the first 2 rounds? Any other fighter in the world gets knocked out in those first rounds - Provodnikov must have been completely stunned and demoralized that Bradley wasn't out after some of the hellacious shots he landed flush on Bradley's chin. I am beyond impressed that Bradley was punching while out on his feet (multiple times) in the fight.

I can't imagine anyone wants to fight Provodnikov after witnessing that...the guy hits like a ton of bricks, and has a decent chin himself. Bradley needs to work on his defense if he wants to survive more than a few more fights.

So glad I skipped wasting $50 on the GSP fight and caught this instead.
Anyone who thought GSP would take 1 ounce of a risk against a fighter known to be susceptible to good wrestling was kidding themselves.
I respect the crap out of GSP, but the dude hasn't finished anyone in nearly 4-and-a-half years (and that was a blown-up lightweight). He's the definition of safe.

Bradley-Provodnikov is exactly why boxing is still the greatest combat sports in the world.

See, I thought the draw of MMA was that their best fights were free. If they are now going PPV, I just don't see it lasting. Hell, it's practically killed boxing, and that was way more popular at its peak than MMA. But I don't want to go off-topic too badly...

I would say boxing, at its best, CAN be the best combat sport in the world, but too often the corruption and back-room dealing conspire to drag it down into the muck...but once in a while, you get some cracking good bouts.

I'm not sure the Bradley-Provodnikov bout was the best fight I've seen this year, but it was definitely the most violent and exciting. And maybe I'm just getting old or something, but I start to get nervous when I see guys taking shots that hard and not going down. A part of me admires the hell out of it, the other part wishes the guy would just go down and not be so brave...

Huh? MMA has always been on PPV. Since UFC 1. The draw of MMA is that more than not the best fighters in the world fight each other. Also there arent 35 different belts and people can clearly identify champions. MMA has been around for 20 yrs so I dont think its a question anymore about it "lasting."

Regarding the fight, it was probably the most exciting fight I've seen Bradley in.

Well, I don't know that much about MMA, as I readily concede. I do remember the early, original UFC's being on PPV, though, because my buddies and I used to get them and they were great. I really liked the original 'no-holds-barred' (except fish-hooking and eye gouging), no weight classes, anything goes UFC's populated by the likes of Royce Gracie and Tank Abbott and other slightly unsavory characters, because of the clash of completely different styles, but since it's gotten big it seems that everyone has basically the same 'style'.

I guess by "lasting", I meant in its current state of popularity. I'm not saying it won't, it was just speculation. I mean, I really like horse racing, and it's "lasted" more or less unchanged for 100+ years, but at one point in time, it was one of the most popular sports in America, and now it's barely a side-show for 80-year-old gambling addicts with chest hair coming through their not-completely-buttoned-up shirts loitering in smoke-filled OTB sites...don't get me wrong, there's no other place I'd rather put a $10 tri-box on a graded stakes race in Dubai, but I'm acutely aware that the sport isn't exactly on the forefront of the national consciousness...
