Either way, I don't ever want to know how badly that hurts...
Yeah, Macklin was getting slowly brutalized the whole fight though. Once he tasted Golovkin's power he was running scared. To his credit he tried to land some haymakers, but he was expending so much energy warding off the constant pressure, he was done for before that body shot. If that gut buster didn't land he still wouldn't have lasted much longer.

Yeah, he was probably technically knocked down at least twice prior, but it wasn't ruled a knock-down for whatever reason (when he fell back against the ropes and held himself up). No doubt he wouldn't have lasted much longer.

That fight was just scary; that kind of power we haven't seen in some time...

Tripple G is a beast. I would love to see him and Peter Quillin get it on with the winner fighting Martinez next year but that probably won't happen anytime soon because of the HBO/Showtime mess.

Golovkin is not ruling out Mayweather or Alvarez. Normally I'd say they would rule him out, but he's willing to take either fight at the 154 JM weight. Golovkin walks around at 167 so he might be able to settle in at 154 and be very dangerous.

I can see him and Canelo possibly fighting but I don't believe him and Mayweather would fight unless Tripple G becomes a star and the fight becomes big money wise.

On a side note did ever here about the sparring sessions Golvokin had with Chavez, Angulo, and Canelo? Here's the link.

I never heard about it, and it's never been expounded upon much, given the link is over two years old. Quillin is also mentioned as a possible sparring partner of Golovkin's, but there hasn't been any follow up.

Yeah I forgot to mention Quillin too and it was 2 years ago before Tripple G starting making a lot of noise.. Sounds like he was handling Chavez and Angulo pretty easy and got the best of Canelo but I don't take too much into sparring sessions because guys usually aren't at there best sometimes depending on when the training camp started but it was an interesting read anyway.

Me neither. I don't even remember a mention of Greg Page knocking down Tyson in a sparring session just before Tyson got upset by Buster Douglas. Much was made of it AFTER the fight.

Chavez would rather have Golovkin at 168, but would also fight him at 160. Isn't 160 his advantage unless the layoff and natural physical maturity have grown him out of the middleweight division. Oh, yeah, he says he will knock GGG out....yawn...

I believe Chavez has fought his last fight at 160 hen he fought Martinez. He been struggling making weight for the last few years. I believe he's going to fight at 168 from now on..

If that's a recent photo then he definitely has some weight issues. His problem is that the doesn't train hard and lacks discipline. It was pretty obvious from the 24/7 clips that Chavez Jr didn't want to train hard. He does have a lot of heart though and it would make for a fun fight to watch.
