Bull****, EA gets on my ****ing nerves.
That appears to be the case. Shakyr has been communicating with the former FN team (which now does UFC) and he was told (paraphrasing) that there isn't enough interest from consumers to make another game.

I don't want to stir up this debate again, but if you look at the sales of FNrd4 anyone can clearly see that sales were great and there are plenty of boxing gamers out there.
FNC was a disaster based on the fact they didn't do much with the gameplay and the storymode was a bad decision.

Because it's a decision the admin staff made. Read the TOS.

Re: Please do this boxing game survey

Thanks for the survey, nicely done! BUT I had to stop at the question:

"What gaming consoles do you own?"

Because there is no Playstation3 option.

I probably won't be buying a PS4 until next year. Has all development ceased on Current Gen consoles? I mean, I thought PS3 / 360 games were still selling?

Off Topic: As much as I'd love to see another Boxing game, wouldn't it be better if we had a new game for a change with similar mechanics and presentation as the Fight Night series, only this time, have it set in Ancient Rome? Yes, as in a historical Gladiator sports sim. No arcade mode, just make it full serious simulation, training, buying new equipment, career, Colosseum, smaller arenas, ludus, etc. Yes, it would be bloody and brutal, but then again, my understanding of ancient history has it that the majority of Gladiators survived in the Colosseum and deaths were rarer than most people think. It's disappointing that the only game I remember similar to this idea was "Colosseum: Road to Freedom" on the PS2 ten years ago, or perhaps "Gladiator Begins" on PSP (made by the same people). We never had ONE decent Gladiator game on Current Gen. And no, Ubisoft's online-only "Spartacus" free-to-play game doesn't count.

What do you think my friend? I mean we already have several boxing games to choose from (i.e. Fight Night Champion) but NO good historical Gladiatorial combat games on Current Gen, so isn't the need for a Gladiator sim more urgent?

BTW I played the Japanese "Gladiator: Road to Freedom Remix" and thought it was a better game than the Euro version, as well as the uncensored USA Beta with "those" removed features (that we probably won't be talking about here lest risk the banhammer).

I wouldn't buy a gladiator game because when I look for a boxing game, I'm looking for boxing. We need a deep boxing game with a true bare-knuckle mode like I pushed to the EA producers.
We had boxing games but never a true sim boxing game with depth. We always got an arcade or a hybrid(sim/arcade). There is so much potential in a boxing game done right.

but I'm skeptical of anything coming out of it.
