Also had it 116-112. Mayweather clearly won the fight as his defense dictated the entire fight. Manny needed to throw double the punches he threw but every time he tried to, he was punching air. Can't fight what isn't there.

By the way, please stop using the word salty. It makes you look.....salty.

Sad to see Roach and Pacquiao not accept defeat, but Mayweather has no class right? Outclassed & out-boxed, no adjustments made by Pacquiao or Roach with his "5 year gameplan"

Re: Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao DEAL DONE

I honestly don't understand how anyone can be upset at Floyd Mayweather last night. I get that the casual fan wants to see an exciting action packed fight but the media, specifically ESPN conned the masses into believing this fight would be different from all other Mayweather fights because of Manny Pacquiao. All we kept hearing for 6 years is how Mayweather is scared of Pacquiao's overwhelming speed, power and pressure. That didn't happen last night though, Floyd did what he always does, stood in the pocket, boxed his opponents head off, used his legs and put on a magnificent technical boxing display as expected.

Pacquiao on the other-hand who ESPN, Arum and Roach have been telling us for years is going to KO Mayweather failed miserably to hold up his end of the bargain. He took a couple jabs and straight rights and quit in his tracks. Never attempted to cut off the ring, never applied any pressure aside for 2-3 flurries on the ropes. He just followed Mayweather around the ring eating straight right hands for 12 rounds like a clueless buffoon. It was a horrible effort, yet nobody is calling out Pacquiao. Mayweather apparently though is to blame for not giving Pacquiao an opportunity to hit him. LOL

To me this is like a football team that prides itself on defense getting blamed for a boring 20-0 win because they didn't allow the other team to score any points. As if it's their responsibility to help the other team score so the fans feel entertained. This is a flat out stupid and nonsensical expectation. Defense is a part of boxing just like punching is, Pacquiao was supposed to be the guy to break Mayweather's defense and failed. Maidana actually put up a far better fight because Maidana didn't quit in his tracks after a couple jabs and straight rights. He kept coming forward pushing the fight.

I understand that Floyd is not a likeable but the man should be congratulated today for the biggest victory of his career cementing himself as the best boxer of his era and an ATG. Not being chastised for being too good and Manny Pacquiao failing to live up to the masses expectations.

You have been watching boxing since the 70's and evidently still don't know a damn thing about boxing.

Had this fight happened years ago the result would have very likely been the same. Would it have been a closer fight? Yes but Mayweather still wins by decision. The flaws Mayweather exploited in Pacquiao's approach last night have always existed. Pacquiao has never demonstrated the ability to cut off the ring and effectively apply pressure against a counter puncher hence his four epic struggles with JMM and the beating he got last night from Mayweather. Styles make fights and lunging in recklessly against a skilled technician like Mayweather is always going to lead to your face getting smashed.

Also please GTFO here with this competition crap. They both have faced the same damn WW competition with Mayweather arguably having fought the better versions of those fighters. Pacquiao the 8 catch-weight division champion weight drained them all.

Grow up, stop hating, you're too old for this.

GREAT post, pretty much sums up everything I and a few others have thought. Its why I avoid everything on espn other than games. We know if Floyd lost and said his shoulder was hurt, they would kill him for it. Anyways, anyone else see that Floyd is forfeiting his titles Monday? I saw a link by CBS Sports, but cant link it

Can we assume he's not fighting anyone major in September then?

If he's forfeiting his belts then he's probably just going for a cupcake 49th win. A retirement tour I guess.

Makes sense. No point in risking a loss in your last fight.

Who cares what Arum and Roach say? There Pacquiao's guys.

ESPN is/was pro-Pacquiao? Their number one boxing guy Dan Rafael picked Mayweather. Stephen A Smith, Bob Lee, and Colin Cowherd among other picked Floyd. Keith Olbermann boycotted the fight, but that was about Mayweather's personal issues.

Tell me. Because beyond an occasional First Take and Olbermann I watch very little ESPN.

Would like to see Floyd to fight Cotto in his next fight.

Lineal MW champ to go along with his numerous other accomplishments would be the icing on the cake of an ATG career.

He's not going to touch Cotto. Not with Roach at the training helm. Wouldn't give Freddy the chance of satisfaction. Could be a risky fight too.

Might be the case, because I always thought Khan would be next to face Mayweather, but with Ramadan starting next month, it would limit Khans training for a September fight. Thurman would be an interesting opponent for him, but other than him and Khan, its limited. How about Hopkins v Mayweather? The hype would be interesting.

Outside of the people you named, ESPN was so anti-Mayweather it wasn't even funny.
