Yea all of the little articles I've seen from ESPN that was reposted on FB reminded me why I do not watch ESPN anymore.

The undercard was horrendous. They didn't have enough revenue to pay for at least a Froch-Bute level fight?

Cotto v Canelo is next fight as long as they both win upcoming matches.

Khan has been approached by both Mayweather and Pacquiao reps to set up fight.

Too early to guess Floyd's last fight

Nah that way Floyd & Manny get all the $$$. At least Lomachenko was on there, albeit against a bum. He's going to be someone to watch in the future.

People will come out the woodworks to watch the playoffs and call the Spurs boring because they "only play defense."

They just want threes and fast paced basketball. It's the same with these main events. They watch the highlights of Tyson knocking out a boxer and think boxing should be the same: some frenetic display of UFC type brawls that end with both boxers bloody.

Mayweather plays defense and the majority hates watching defense. It's why they hate baseball games that finish 2-1 with 20 strikeouts and expertly played hockey with a higher emphasis on dumping the puck to keep control of the ice.

That and people hate Mayweather because he's undefeated. They'll point to things like domestic abuse (and no one is condoning that crap. He's a terrible human being. But that doesn't matter when evaluating him as a boxer so stop it) to shut down others and deliver their point but outside of that their only argument is he's boring. And well, you can start this post from the beginning to understand why.

i see floyd as more of a barry bonds
barry was great before the steriod era and became even greater during it
floyd was a great fighter and became even greater making tons of money by picking and choosing his battles once he formed his own promotions

Which is why alot of people dont see him as the greatest pound for pound

Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
            Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
            Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

At $100 a pop all parties involved should have made a quality undercard happen.

They should of, but they put most of their money into the main event. I was honestly surprised they even managed to get lomanchenko and cruz on there, considering their solid fighters(Even though they were fighting bums)

just curious, how would you folks rank Pacquiao's career during the time frame in which he fought between 126 and 135? i THINK Bert Sugar actually had him among the greatest of all time at those weight classes (but said at the time he wasn't ready to officially rank him yet) but he also ranked him the #1 southpaw of all time. i personally think Pac was at his best when he fought in the lighter weight classes. just curious if you folks agree or disagree...

Terrible fight, glad I didn't pay big $$$ to watch. One solid punch in the whole fight. Seemed like they were content to spare for 12 and get out of there.

I'm shocked that Bert Sugar actually said that.

Yep, like it or not, that's the general consensus at least among the people I talk to. And this is in his home town. Younger Floyd was a lot more exciting than older Floyd. Floyd never takes a fight he thinks he could lose. He knows how to out point his opponents and win.

But I will say this, when 2 fighters fight for 12 rounds and neither one even has a scratch on them it really is more of a draw in my book, that said, I scored the fight 8-4 Floyd while watching it. Floyd clearly won, but the fans clearly lost with this one.

Ya'll should watch this, I felt it was pretty spot on, and this guy has a pretty good boxing channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShaCObqMZgA

A bunch of people are bitching about this fight simply because they're mad floyd won honestly. There's A LOT of sour grapes, especially among the casual fans.

I can't watch that video at work, but I would think the sour grapes would come from the fact that Manny didn't throw. We all know Floyd is Floyd. The question was, what could a competent volume puncher do against Floyd. We still don't know. The fight played out exactly as I thought it would even though I hoped beyond hope that Manny would throw 80 punches per round for the fight to see how Floyd would handle it.

It was a lame fight, no doubt, but all Floyd fights are going to be lame to the casual boxing fan unless someone takes Floyd out of his comfort zone. People need to be mad at Manny and Roach, not Floyd, for their silly gameplan. If you only throw 30 or 40 punches per round, no one on this planet will beat Floyd.

Yeah read that earlier, thought it was complete bull****. Well the parts about the actual fight I mean. Sounds like another butt hurt writer who was praying for Floyd to get his *** beat.
