You know, how bad was Manny's shoulder injury? Do you guys think it was an excuse? I notice a lot of Floyd fans on OS don't even factor that in. Then again why did the Pac team wait until the last minute to ask for an anti inflammatory shot?

It sounds like an excuse to me. Although if how Pac fought this fight was his strategy going in, then he basically took a dive. Took the money with no real chance of winning or getting hurt.

I would have hoped that his strategy was to throw 80 punches per round and go for broke, but his shoulder nixed that plan completely. If that was the case, the fight should have been postponed.

Kind of tough to postpone a fight of this magnitude, especially with all the money involved. There was a lot of pressure on Pac to fight, assuming the injury was real and substantial, and that's assuming a lot.

True, but they waited until about 3 days before the fight to release the tickets. Guarantee if Floyd had a shoulder injury, it would have been postponed. I don't know if the injury is real or not, but if it was real, no way you step into the ring with Floyd and expect to win with 1 hand tied behind your back. It was a total money grab. I bet Manny slept real well Saturday night with all his debt pressures now behind him.

Hurt isn't the right term. He caught Floyd off-balance twice in which he only followed up with a flurry once.

People should be more upset at Manny. Floyd fought HIS fight, Manny didn't. For a boxer with a history of great activity and output Manny got frustrated and took the rest of the night off. It was clear to anyone with a decent eye for boxing that Floyd was winning (despite the crowd cheering every Manny punch which ultimately landed on Floyd's gloves) and Manny didn't press the issue because he couldn't. Floyd shut him down using his superior skills and boxing brain. No one can complain about the ref either, he was hand-picked and mutually agreed upon (one of the few pre-fight agreements w/o much resistance from either side).

To allow Floyd (a natural counter-puncher) to throw more punches is a travesty. Manny and his corner should feel ashamed.

Maybe Manny and Freddie should have shut the **** up talking so much **** during the buildup to this and certainly Freddie talking about Floyd pulling out of the fight with like four days left before the event.

So sick of all these poser "boxing fans" trashing this fight and as usual laying the blame at Floyd's feet because once again they thought he was going to lose and he didn't. Someone on Facebook linked a post that made a lot of sense. If this fight played out exactly the same way that it did, except Manny winning, with the stats reversed, people would be talking about how amazing the fight was and how amazing Manny is for beating Floyd with actual boxing and not his usual put his head down and recklessly throw a bunch of punches in front of him style.

Sorry, but I refuse to listen to a guy who's ALL OVER Floyd's jock and in his 'inner circle'. His opinion is immediately null and void.

Oh hell no. I cannot stand Deadspin. Those guys are trash, and I think Drew Magary is decent. He's got his own cutthroat style, but I'm not a huge fan of his.

Re: Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao DEAL DONE

I don't try and hide my opinion on here and I'm pretty transparent.

Do I like Mayweather? Hell no. Was I rooting for him to get knocked out? Yep.

There's no doubt in my mind he's one of the greatest ever, but he's not THE greatest ever. He's a skilled tactician and is very methodical in his approach, and I respect that he refuses to change his style just to appease the masses. I will absolutely give him that.

But that doesn't mean I have to like him. Yes.....his out-of-the-ring behavior does play a part.

As far as in-the-ring; I grew up a Mike Tyson fan, and he gave the people what they wanted. Not saying his style is the right one, but you definitely received your money's worth.

Canelo vs Kirkland should definitely be an entertaining fight. i give Kirkland a puncher's chance, but i think Canelo will wear him down and take him out.
