^He's been desperate for that mayweather fight for years. Ever since he first turned down the devon alexander fight when mayweather punked him and fought maidana again.

Thing is, Khan is actually a good fighter, his resume is solid, and his fights are usually good. But his entitlement and "thirst" for the mayweather fight are making him look bad.

He's not necessarily full of himself, he's trying to cash in on a lottery ticket. If I had a chance to fight Floyd in his last fight, I'd say anything I needed to to get that fight. Mayweather/Khan would draw decent PPV numbers. I think it would be an easy fight for Floyd, not sure why he's set on Berto or the other no name. They won't be much of a draw. I have no interest in Floyd's last fight because I know he will cherry pick someone who he can beat easily on a Unanimous decision snoozefest.

Pretty much agree across-the-board. With the only exception being I have had no interest in any of Floyd's fights for the better part of the last decade, because he is a boring fighter to watch and has been for nearly his entire career (IMO, obviously).

^Watch him at lightweight before he injured his hands a bunch. He was actually explosive and more offensive oriented then. Most fighters he's fought against say he has more power than you think, mosely even said he felt canelo and mayweathers punching power was the same.

He adjusted his style and became much more defensive as he moved up in weight. Although i think it's exaggerated how boring he is. Maidana, cotto and canelo fights weren't boring. Guerrero fight wasn't bad either.

Yeah, I remember him at the lower weights (was interested in his career because he's from my home state), and maybe it's an exaggeration how boring people say he is, but like all fighters, I guess it depends on your own tastes and their opponents.

The first Maidana fight was interesting (for a while) because Maidana pressed with reckless abandon before he ran out of gas in the latter half of the fight; to some extent, ditto Cotto. The Canelo fight was boring as hell, IMO - except for the part where Alvarez TKO'd the ropes. The Guerrero fight was just kind of a joke - he did nothing, then bitched about not letting his hands go on the walk back to the dressing room. I'll never understand that performance from Guerrero in undoubtedly the biggest spotlight he'll ever see.

I agree that Khan could be semi-interesting, but does anyone doubt how that fight will go? Khan will chase, he may even pressure him, but Mayweather will pot-shot him while back-pedaling, never really exposing himself to damage, and he'll win a seemingly never-ending succession of identical-looking 10-9 rounds (landing 6-7 punches per round) until the final bell mercifully brings the proceedings to an end. This is really what I'm really saying when I say he's boring: not only the result, but the precise way in which it will be achieved, is essentially identical from fight to fight for Floyd.

Interesting comments by retired Carl Frosh about Khan's chances against Floyd.

“I don’t think he’s good enough,. I don’t think there’s anybody out there who is.That’s no disrespect to Amir Khan; but when he steps up, he gets beaten. People think I’m having a go at him, but I’m not.
You can’t put somebody like Khan, who’s been beat by three/four people up against Mayweather. He got knocked out by Prescott and Garcia, and Peterson had him down. If you’re losing to that level [of fighter], you can’t put him up against Floyd Mayweather and expect him to win. But a fight is a fight. It’s interesting, but I don’t think he will stand a chance."

I actually give Berto a better chance than I would Khan. Khan is a smaller slower Alvarez. I don't think Khan would have smothering Floyd in his gameplan. Berto on the other hand might be able to try to pull a Maidana and smother Floyd and land a lucky shot.

And when I say chance, I mean picking the lotto number chance for Berto. I don't even think Khan would stand any chance. He'd look for a shot that will never come and if it did, Floyd would tap on the jaw and it would be over. He'd need a 1 punch KO, I don't see it happening.

I think floyd beats khan, but khan is definitely not a smaller slower alvarez, they don't fight anything alike, and khan is waaaay faster than canelo. That's way of base. Khan has the right attributes to give mayweather some trouble(range/reach, height, speed). but i don't think he knows how to use those attributes as effectively.

And i doubt berto has a better chance than khan, although i would say berto has more power.

Yeah fistofrage, you must have saw Khan on a bad day, because he's got some very fast hands. Canelo has some very good "hand speed/power balance" (if you will) but isn't as fast as Khan.

I don't like Khan. I wish he would show some super speed and just disappear.

I'll watch some more of him then. For some reason I have the Lamont Peterson fight of him burned in my head.

Understandable. Hard to gauge "in fight" hand speed sometimes. Khan-Garcia was a good indicator.
