Yh its not on EA access. You can just buy the game off the xbox store. I dnt think the online pass thing is needed anymore.

And if any person behind a billion dollar business has a hard time getting in touch with a fighter, they are doing it wrong. Boxers are one of the easier athletes to get their cell number and sit down face to face.

If you send someone who understands the business and the sport, you could set up a suite in Vegas during canelo-ggg 2/boxfanexpo and a ton of named guys would drop by for a quick Mocap/pics and whatnot. Yes, not every fighter will do it for free, but many named guys just want to be asked. They want to be in the game. The rest, you send a guy who understands the business and the sport and you will get everyone you need and under budget. I would bet my life that a 30 minute meeting with a quick presentation of numbers with a guy like Eddie Hearn would result in major success. These guys aren’t dumb and they get the big picture...but you can’t send guys who don’t know how to position why fight night should be used as free advertising for the much bigger and important number.
You are semi right but I wouldn't bet my life on it because I have personally talked to boxers and many would stretch a budget to high and we would have a.large variety of fighters.

totally agree....this just shows the interest in a boxing game for next-gen. UFC is on it's third installment and for a 7 year old game to garner that much buzz and interest and to come even close in online numbers speaks volumes.

I dont think EA has ever thought there isnt interest. In fact, I've heard people at EA acknowledge that there is a good amount of interest in a boxing game.

What it always comes down to is what is more profitable. Not what is going to sell more necessarily but what is going to result in a bigger profit.

Hmm interesting. The more profitable thing would maybe be UFC at this point, but I have a feeling a new boxing game could potentially sell better.

I think what it comes down to also is how important do you think the Ali, Tyson, Leonard and other classic licenses are. Those are the ones that really drive the cost up and even putting aside the license, developing a combat sports game isnt cheap

My question is would a new boxing game that only featured up and coming fighters like Joshua, Spence, Garcia, Loma, Thurman sell alot? I think it could do well and the licensing costs would be cheaper but would it sell enough to make as big of a profit as a UFC game does.

The UFC license automatically comes with the biggest fighters in its sport. A boxing game doesnt automatically come with that.

Yh I don't know if it would profit as much as UFC, but it has potential to for sure. With current popular boxing names and a few legends in there, along with the fact that a boxing game would also be a bit more accessible to the casual audience, you may have a big seller on your hands. I mean who would have expected a 7 yr old FN game to get this much buzz? Game went from 200 and some to over 2000 players online out of no where.

After such a long boxing game drought, I think it'd sell great regardless of how many legends are included. If they gave us a solid roster of current stars. I'd be happy. GGG, Canelo, etc. would help the cause for sure.

Yh I don't even think a ton of legends would be needed tbh, though they would be more than welcomed and would help with big names. But just have all the current guys and I feel the game would sell well too. People are in the market for the game. Like I said in a previous post, I have a friend that was a sony fanboy from day one...dude had every playstation and only playstation. He came by one day and we played FNC and he liked the game so much he went and got a xbox one just to get it.

You know how this debate or argument going to go with me being a fan of boxing, gaming, retired boxer, friend of many boxers, and former EA Fight Night Senior Community Leader. I'm pro boxing and I can see how this could work and sell extremely well. There is plenty of money circulating in boxing because major networks are picking them up. Eddie Hearn just got a 8 billion dollar deal for boxing. Certain groups of fans keep pushing the boxing is dead in America but if you are following boxing. Boxing says Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder both will make more money fighting in America than England.

                          * I stay trying to figure out a way both sides will come out on top. I just got off the phone talking to a 7 time title challenger(Chop Chop Coley). A great product will sell. The way social media and word of mouth goes I can't see a boxing videogame especially now doing bad. Known cover athletes or not. The Boxing fans were more into debating not having a major boxing figure. Many fans learned the boxers on the go because it was just a fighting game to them.

Is there a way to upload your face for boxer creation on Xbox one? The only 2 ways it shows how to do so is by using the Xbox live vision camera or uploading a picture to the EA servers. Well, the EA servers are down so I'm only left with the choice of Xbox live vision camera. Does anyone know if they Xbox live vision camera will work with Xbox one?? Do i need a Kinect?? Or can I just use any random webcam to get this accomplished?? Any feedback here would be greatly appreciated.

Boxing isnt dead. Only idiots try to push that narrative.

There is alot of money in boxing currently but that doesnt necessarily equate to video game sales. The reason Hearn got a huge TV deal and Arum got his ESPN deal is because live sports is a very valuable commodity right now. Its the same reason that WWE and UFC will sign billion dollar deals for TV rights in the US this year.

Hardcore boxing fans will buy a new boxing game no matter what. Outside of them, I'm sure there is a good amount of people who would buy a boxing game no matter who was in it. With that said, I think the roster matters to a lot of people.

Lets put aside the legends. Lets use the list that SVA91 posted of active fighters he wants to see. I assume that EA would be negotiating with their managers but lets say they try to do it through their promoters:

                              1. GGG (K2)
                              2. Canelo (Golden Boy)
                              3. Joshua (Matchroom)
                              4. Wilder (Haymon)
                              5. Loma (Top Rank)
                              7. Danny Garcia. (Haymon)
                              8 Mikey Garcia (Matchroom)
                              9. Thurman (Haymon)
                              10. Kell Brook (Matchroom)
                              11. Kovalev (Duva)
                              12. Tyson fury (Matchrrom)
                              13. Porter (Haymon)
                              14. Errol Spence (Haymon)
                              15. Pacqiao (Top Rank)
                              16. Crawford (Top Rank)
                              17. Rigondeaux(Top Rank)

So for just those 17 fighters, you would have to negotiate with 6 different promoters. All with different demands. All with different prices. Thats one of the biggest problems.

With the UFC deal, you have access to 500 fighters for one price. No chasing around promoters or managers to get them to sign the deal. No using your Business Affairs team to negotiate and draft 50-100 individual fighters deal. No juggling of a budget to make sure that all the money paid to fighters doesnt go over it.

Putting a boxing game together at the level of FNC is difficult and expensive. There are plenty of fighters who would be OK with doing it for free but I doubt anyone on that list would be willing to and those are the fighters the game needs.

I'd say EA's best hope for a broad consumer response would be to include Mayweather. Otherwise, an EA boxing game would maybe do a little better than their hockey franchise.

There needs to be a flare to the game that, right now, only Mayweather can bring. You can't use Tyson or Ali anymore.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.
