I think ingame screenshots mean something. Look at Doug Fluties Maximum Football. The first look at gameplay came out this week and the game launches in September.

Healthy skepticism is fine, but I don't think Round4Round won't release because of the lack of released gameplay.

Yeah, I dont blame people who are optimistic. Thats a fine position to have. My issue is that Shakyr gets upset anytime someone is skeptical about whether the game will be released or not.

FYI, Maximum Football is different because there were previous versions. The Doug Flutie version of MF isnt the first version. If it was I wouldve been real skeptical too.

Here is a question for you: I havent seen the DFMF trailer yet but I've seen videos of Maximum Football 18.

Do you think that boxing fans would be happy with a indy boxing game of the same quality?

Look at MF18 and the animations are choppy, graphics and sound are bleow average and pretty basic game modes (I'm aware that DFMF has greatly improved that.)

I'm aware this isn't the first Maximum football. I was pointing out how Indy studios tend to roll out visual information a lot slower than major developers.

I don't think boxing fans would be happy with Maximum Football 18 graphics and animations unless, the game was an annual release and was expected to make vast improvements.

There has been very little visual information on Hardknock Nights live as well, eventhough the game did make an appearance at EVO.

There's nothing wrong with skepticism, but I can see how someone can take offense to a game they have ties to being considered vaporware. Especially if they see all of the hard work and passion being put into the project.

Also I never compared this to an AAA game. I compared this to other games (like Joe Montana Football and Gridiron Champions) that had websites, signed players and "in game" photos....and never released a game.

Also, have you ever heard of bankruptcy? These boxers dont have to be paid. Even if these boxers had guarantees in their contracts, R4R would just file for bankruptcy and the boxers wouldnt receive a dime.

The fact that the game has deals with boxers doesnt guarantee that a game is coming out.

Dude, I'm asking for a clip. Not a full video. Not an hour of gameplay. Not a demo....a clip that shows that an actual game is being developed. Something that indicates that development is moving forward other than you promising that a game is being released and the website releasing iphone vids of fighters saying they will be in the game.

Man, this sounds like some of the stuff people be asking EA about sometimes...especially when it comes to NBA Live. So you should be able to sympathize right??

Nope because I hold EA to the same expectations when it comes to Live.

For Fifa/Madden, they come out every year so once an announcement is made I believe the game will be released. They have 20 plus years of announcing a game and then releasing it so I can trust that.

With Live, they've cancelled that game 3 times in the last 15 yrs. So just because they announce it in a press release or post screenshots doesnt mean that they will release a game.

Now with R4R, we are talking about an indy company with limitied resources and one that hasnt released a game before. Add on that they have only released videos of midlevel fighters announcing that they are in the game. Add on that they havent shown a second of actual footage in the game......

          It just makes me skeptical.

I'm rooting for them. I want them to release a boxing game just so people can see it can be profitable. I will likely buy this game day 1 like I do most combat sports games.

But I cant ignore the fact that this game has been developed for a while now and we have nothing to show for it but iphone videos.

Not just R4R but Hardknock nights was something being hyped almost a couple years by youtuber "ShowbizztheAdult". I would love to see these come to life but the only one i seen was called Project Boxing by a person named Epilith where he posted ton of videos but stopped for some reason last year. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzg...oqQq6Ig/videos

Hardknock Nights Live is still pushing for a 2019 release. R4R looks like 2020. HNL just released a teaser trailer the other day

                  That proves nothing.
As aholbert32 pointed out, there have been other games which seemed further along than both R4R and HNL which never released.

For all we know, this is just someones idea to gain publicity in order to obtain a job with a AAA developer.

Honestly, Hardknock doesn’t look bad. Animations are stiff though. Maybe that’s just the trailer. Also, how well the boxers move on their feet is important and you can’t see any of that here.

I wasn't trying to prove anything. Was just posting updated news on the game.

I figured some people would be interested in the video. Also, somebody on the development team indicated those animations were handmade, and they're currently working towards implementing mocap.

Hardknock Nights Live kickstarter is up. Dont know if I'm allowed to post links, but it went up yesterday, for those interested.
