    Re: Glory Days Boxing

Was thinking of buying the PDF version and printing cards in normal paper, laminating sheets, and inserting them into a 3-ring binder. Then laminating the playing board/charts. Any of you with the game think this is feasible in terms of having a functioning game?

I don't see a problem with that plan, assuming you are planning to cut out each individual card.

Hurry though. I believe the is a 25% off sale on the pdfs this weekend!

          Nice, man.

You will enjoy it. The game flows very well. If I can help in any way (I'm somewhere between 500 and 1000 fights completed, I think) let me know. I'd be glad to help you learn the game etc.

If you haven't, I'd check out Bleacher Bums Gaming on YouTube. It's the channel of the game's creator and he's got a lot of fights on his channel using his game.

Thanks for the offer to help. In reviewing the game rules, it reminds me of the old game Title Bout- which I played thousands of hours as a kid in the eighties. Looking forward to playing through some of these fantasy matchups again.
Have you heard any timeline for when featherweights will be released?

Could someone, Please, post an image of a boxer's card so I can see if I can use their card ratings to translate into Friday Night Champion ratings for boxer creations. Thanks

The cards would not translate into FNC ratings. Without the accompanying dice roll they would not mean anything

Based on what I know, I'd guess the next set will be out by March and the 8th set will be out by June.

Those are just educated guesses. I do communicate with the game's creator from time to time so I will ask about that when I get the chance.

I know the next two sets are feather and fly but I'm not sure which will come first.

Aside from his regular job, he coaches high school football but his season was canceled after just one game a week or two ago so he should have more time than usual this time of year.

He also said that, after the initial 8 weight classes are done, he plans to make supplemental sets. These sets of 100 fighters will cover all 8 weight classes and will likely include occasional update cards for active fighters.

That's the extent of what I know right now. I'll update here when I find out more so check back for updates.

                          Re: Glory Days Boxing

Just finished my first bout: Tyrell Biggs vs Henry Cooper. I chose Biggs because he always reminded me of a young Cassius Clay- who narrowly escaped a loss to Cooper in real life. Clay had been dropped by Cooper for the first time ever (Cooper one of the few to ever knock Ali down) and was in real trouble before the fight was stopped on cuts (Cooper). My bout w Biggs played out exactly the same. Cooper ahead on all 3 cards but the bout was stopped on cuts in the sixth round. Cooper left ring with swollen right and left eye, cut over right eye, and gash over left eye. It’s a shame because he had dropped Biggs in the 5th and Biggs was out of gas.

I chatted a little with Anthony last night.

He said he is aiming for January or February for the Featherweights and March for the Flyweights.

With a couple of new guys posting in this thread, I thought I'd mention that I have a federation using this game in the Other Sports Dynasty section here on OS.

It is called "Unified Boxing Federation (Glory Days Boxing)".

If you haven't already had a look, I'd welcome you guys to do so.
