Excellent game-significantly better than the first. I edit the league and fight random 6-8 round quick fights on Difficult rather than go the Career mode route. My “power” connect percentage is low but I just read where you have to be at medium range to be in a position to connect so I’ll work on that. How do you throw an uppercut? I realize it’s a power punch that require at least one banked momentum punch but I can’t seem to throw it let alone connect. The CPU doesn’t seem to either. I assume it can only be positioned to connect at close range.

This is a lot like what I'm trying to do on dreams only my gameplay is muay thai and 3d more of a sim, but all other aspects I wanted to implement are like yours where you allocate time/make decisions between each fight w/o mini-games and also make it a bit quirky and fun - I wanted to take control of a 'gym' too rather than individual fighter(s)

Anyway very solid job I must say - what's your job before doing this stuff? I feel like self-taught developer types are on the rise
Yeah, sorry for not making the fact you have to book your own fights more clear! I'll think of a way to point that out more. Before game development I was a 3D animator for a small company. Learned game development in my own time until I was able to do it full-time. Good luck with your own projects!

I'd buy it now if it was on consoles too.

The plan is to port it to Steam and Nintendo Switch some time in 2021

My only issue is the opposite of what I expected and my boxer-puncher is like paulie malinaggi and I'm 14-0 with zero KO's lol . .. I couldn't fight my way out of a paper bag. I think I came close a few times but with 3 and 6 rounders it's fine.

Very polished game otherwise, nice sound/gfx everything is cool even the names of fighters and customization etc. Very well done.

having said that, It would be cool if it was a console arcade game since playing on a controller would be great and preferable. I know nothing about how much of a pain in the arse that would be to make a reality.
KO's can be a bit difficult because knockout punches factor in Strength, the skill level of the punch thrown, distance, as well as amount of stamina required. For example, to increase knockout power you should train Strength, one of your power punches (Lead/Read Hook/Uppercut), then use that punch to knockout your opponent when they're stunned. Also make sure it's thrown from the correct distance and that you have enough stamina to throw it with full power.

Regarding controller support, it currently works with bluetooth gamepads during gameplay. Full menu support will come in a future update.

To throw uppercuts, you can either hold Up + either lead/rear punch to the head. Or you can first duck, then hold either lead/rear head punch. It's a bit trickier but the payoff is bigger since they are stronger than hooks at full strength. And yes you need to be in close range to connect with it. Try going into practice mode and trying it out.

Glad you guys are enjoying the game so far! Please continue providing any questions or feedback you may have and stay tuned for more updates in the near future!

an interesting side note - in my combat game I independently came to the same conclusion that you did for power shots.

I feel like in a videogame there has to be a way to limit them and I have it so that you must land 5 jabs to 'unlock' a head-kick. You start with 1 and can stack them, but I felt like focusing on the weakest punch yet the easiest to land would yield a good balance. You're method of 'momentum' is quite slick too.

NOt sure if that was your reasoning as well, but in games like UFC, fight-night etc.. the fights are usually a bit wonky because the player can just output and output since it's a game and 'stamina' isn't REALLY working like that IRL... so additional 'mechanics' are required imo. This is all because nuances in real life are far too complex to be added in games correctly.

Also as in your game, it's not like the 'regular' shots don't matter they do and if you get too fixated on JUST the power shots, that's not a winning strategy plus they can be blocked/avoided.

I have some ko's now, it was more that my style takes their health down - I didn't know you can KO while they are stunned, I simiply win rounds and drain them

Yeah originally in Prizefighters 1 there was no limit to throwing power punches and the gameplay devolved into dodge/power punch/dodge/power punch etc. Having to build up requires you to use your basic attacks more and also force you to use power punches wisely since they're limited.

I'm still figuring out the right balance for KOing the opponent but I'm glad you were able to figure out a strategy for obtaining more KOs.

I just signed up for IPTV thru a local provider. The box they use is built off the Android OS.
Would I be able to play that game thru that device?

I can't say for sure but if you are able to download and play games from the Play Store then I don't see why it wouldn't work. EDIT: Actually the game requires touch screen to navigate the menu screens so it may not work.
