I just see new boxers here and there getting scanned.

imo they had a LOT of work to do with both punch animations and getting hit. Some of it was solid, other stuff not so much.

Movement was the first thing they really seemed to nail and it looked so fluid with the footwork.

So to me they had a bunch of gameplay work to do especially with animation - then they also have the whole 'world' to create - how are you going to do a career? what's an online tourney look like? what is all the art that is not in an arena going to look like? how much AI have they completed? how much logic is missing? what major bugs/hurdles do they have to work through?

I think once the scope increased 2 things happened.

1) they realized they are entering a more typical development cycle which is years not months (more options, more modes more everything(
2) they committed to such a huge roster and scanned everyone in the game that takes up a lot of resources and trouble shooting on its own. If they started with their own proto-type, maybe it doesn't work with all these different shapes and sizes? There are so many people in the game that were all not just scanned but also mo-capped - so now they have to make all those animations work for them IN GAME.

It's a crazy undertaking. I've made a few combat games in dreams and usually have about 2 variation of each strike - imagine having 100? there are so many little annoying things that can happen and slow you down to a crawl.

This game will drop in 2023 earliest - strictly imo

I truly lost hope for this game after nothing was released in the summer and fall!! I always said this is too good to be true and they never truly showed gameplay videos just snippets and then made a big deal of just announcing boxers!! I would not be suprised if they did all this to get in EAs ear to get them to buy them out!! now we have news of a mew fightnight possibly? no coincidence to me!! It would be impossible to have all these boxers styles doen pat gameplay and signature wise while trying to implement real sim boxing hope im wrong but it is what it is!!

I also believe that the scope of the game got bigger than they imagined; and because of that, it'll probably be a year or two from now before this game comes out.

thinking the same thing.....with that being said, the finished product will hopefully live up to expectations, if not exceed them. let's just hope it's not a debacle like the new nascar game was.
