    clinching...

as of right now cant say im happy with the way they did this in the game....it lasts like a split second before someone is pushed away. why couldnt they make it more like ur hanging on each other and attempts to punch for a bit before its broken up. and no referee in the ring during the fight is annoying. also, a bunch of times i had the guy near down and he never even tried to clinch me to buy time. after playing this game more, its starting to look like i hyped it up too much in my mind and got my hopes way up for nothing. im gonna keep playing it and hopefully it will grow on me but im not sure.

no game is perfect, the presentation is lacking aswell, they need to go look at Knockout kings 2000, and hire that crew, this haymaker guy gets on my nerves(big tigger style)

2 or 3 man crew please!

i actually like the commentary and id also like it more if they had fighters names said and not just the nicknames for the created fighters. make a voice bank of names like mike and tyson and other common names and let them be said.

This has not been my experience so far. The key is *when* you clinch. I was getting pummeled in one of my fights last night and was able to clinch several times for at least 5 or 6 seconds to save myself from getting knocked out. The key is to clinch after a parry or after you have dodged a punch.

The clinch is a great asset only when you are in danger as it gives you back a good amount of energy. Pertaining to the CPU using it when in trouble, only good fighters will do it. If you are fighting the 45th ranked boxer, he will not clinch, the 20th will. A good example of this is the Cotto vs. Corley fight just last week in which Cotto who is inexperienced got rocked and didn't for a clinch, instead he chose to put up his hands and guard his face.
