Thinking about getting FN Rd 2 ?'s

Hey all. I'm a big sports gamer on xbox, but haven't played a boxing game since Punch Out. After reading a lot of your threads, I've become interested in getting Fight Night, but I was wondering if you could answer a couple questions (all for off-line playing). Thanks in advance!

    1. How long does each fight typically take? What's the longest fight you've had?

    2. How much strategy is involved in each fight vs. just trying to out-punch the other guy? I really don't know much about boxing, but I'm just wondering how different each fight is from the next.

    3. How varied is the career mode each time you fight through with a different boxer?

Fights take between 5 seconds and 40 minutes. Basically the only option you have in career mode is 3 minute rounds- I would have preferred 2 or 2 1/2 minute rounds. I have had 12 round decsions on this game.

You have to play the game on hard(at least I do), but the computer has multiple styles: Slugger, boxer, dancer, Counter Puncher(They'll destroy you until you get the hang of it.)

Career Mode is going to be the same concept each time you go through. However, there is a hall of fame so you can try to make more money, etc. I had a Vitali Klitschko career on Hard and I went 34-10-0 with 24 KO's won 3 different belts and lost 1 of them when I retired. It was very enjoyable, when you get older your stats go down, power, stamina, etc. It becomes very hard to win, so I think the replay would be to see if you can get to 49-0 and break Marciano's record.

I started a new career on Welterweight and its not that exciting yet. I created Kermit Cintron(He's 24-0 22KO's in real life) I'm 17-0-0 17KO's ranked 22nd. I was trying to move up the ladder slowly to build my stats, but it hasn't been a challenge at all yet. I went into the 5th round once. Things should get interesting pretty soon. Anyway if the game gets boring, just don't train before fights, keep your stats low, and the game will always be a challenge because the computer does fight with some good strategy.

I picked it up and am really enjoying it...playing on medium, undefeated in 4 amateur fights, 3 KO's (beat the hell out of the non ko, but he kept getting up). Just a lot of fun. Also played one game online and that was pretty fun, but I have to get a bit better before I'm more of a challenge. I'm not a big boxing fan, but this is just a fun game.
