What boxing game options do I have?

I have read the thoughts on FN 2 and am debating getting it. I also have read about VB 2 but dont know how to get it. Can anyone with knowledge on the matter recomend a game for me. I liked Arron's review on FN 2 and should just get that. The problem is that I see lots of complaining on it as well. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for any help guys!

For two player gameplay a viable option is Rocky Legends. The one player battles are too easy on normal and too hard on the most difficult level.

Thanks for your reply . The reviews on FN 2 are all very good. I know every game has flaws but I might end up getting it. Thanks!

the game is awesome when u play anotehr person who doesnt throw haymakers every 2 seconds unlike the cpu ai. for that alone this game is worth it...especially if u find cool people online who play legit.

Yeah, I think the haymakers really take away from any strategy that the game may have. I don't know that throwing haymakers is not legit, but it's sure distracting. I'm 6-18, but in my last fight I KO'ed my last opponent in the 4th round strictly by going for haymakers. I landed 64 out of 74 of them, yet I was hit 70% of the time. The final stats had me landing 75% of all my punches to my opponents previously mentioned 70%. If your opponent is better at throwing haymakers it's hard to use defense and finess to win a bout.

I agree about the haymakers taking away from the game. I've played a couple of guys online that, basically, ONLY threw haymakers (one guy threw over 400 of them in 5 rounds). The guys that do that look pretty silly walking around the ring with their boxers' bodies cocked/twisted around. Luckily, I was able to beat these clowns by jabbing, blocking and constantly moving.

Thing is, I can't throw a haymaker to save my life --- not on or offline. In all of my fights I bet average about 2 per fight --- and those are purely coincidental. Just seems too awkward for me to pull off or something.

Maybe my feeling about haymakers would change if I learned how to throw them correctly.

Overall, I think the game is really close to being a very good simulation of boxing. If they do something next year with the haymaker like increasing the risk/reward factor of it, they could really have something good on their hands...

VB2 but try out VB1 first. I think VB2 is the best bixing game ever.

I like the single player version. Online I suck because Frankenstein fighters chase me down with their arms cocked back waiting to unload a haymaker. I nail them with five shots and they throw one haymaker and do alot of damage. The game is great when you are not playing a Haymaker junkie.
