Well, if there's one thing I think that I can bet my life savings on is that Take 2 will make a better career mode than what Fight Night 3 offers. Heck, I think you could have a picture of a ball of yarn and the career mode would be better.Comment

If they can do for boxing what they did for the career mode in College Hoops...***Ques up Eddie Murphy & Rick James***..."My girl wants to party all the time, party all the time, part alllllllll the timmmee. "
You might as well throw a pointy hat on Kudo and dance around like muchins singing ding dong the witch is dead while we're at it.
I don't think the gameplay will be as good as FN initially, but the single player will be choice. I think I'll still have FN for when my friends come over to watch boxing once or twice a month, but The Take Two boxing game will be the one I play on a day to day basis.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

They might surprise us with the gameplay.
But I think it's a given the career mode will DESTROY the impotent career mode of FNRd3.Comment

Re: Take Two taking a stab at boxing games on next-gen systems?
OH MY GOD!!!! I have a raging h@rd on right now. This is my ultimate video game fantasy. A 2K boxing game. Wow, it's real, it's happening. I read it in an official press release. No f*ckin way...
I have actually been mad at 2K for not making a boxing game because all their other sports titles ruined me. There was a time when Madden, NBA Live, satisfied me. Hell, I grew up with Tecmo Bowl and 10 Yard Fight. I didn't realize the potential of what a sports title could be until 2k showed up.
This game will destroy Fight Night in every catagory imaginable. No more banging my head against the wall and yelling why Kudo, what the hell is wrong with you. What an awesome week! The Sopranos returns in four days and the game of all games will be here in a year or so. The sad thing is Fight Night will outsell it but even that has a silver lining as I get a good laugh at mass stupidity.....Comment

Re: Take Two taking a stab at boxing games on next-gen systems?
I'm sure EA will counter this news the best way they know how.
Kudo will sign Queen Latifa to be the announcer, he'll add 'Super Go-Go Gadget' jab as a specialty punch.
There will be no career mode altogether (although you could argue that there isn't one now), no belts, super Parry mode and whores will be in the ring while you fight. Knockout a whore and you get unlimited stamina for 20 seconds.
EA will add all these fantastic features while poor Take Two makes a boxing game with actualy training, no gimicy punches, no hookers and a real career mode.
How could they possibly compete?Comment

Re: Take Two taking a stab at boxing games on next-gen systems?
2k needs to come up with the greatest create a boxer feature ever. Don't even worry about signing actual boxers. Then advertise the create feature on the back of the box. Say something like "'use the most advanced boxer editor ever to create your pugilist. Will you start a new legend, or recreate one of history's greatest fighters?" or something like "featuring a create system so advanced you can recreate any of boxings greatest legends."
Then we just let the fans create all the greatest boxers. I've seen websites where fans have come up with hundreds of wrestlers for Smackdown. It would be sweet to see this for boxing.Comment
