Re: EA Sports UFC Free Content Update Available Now - Adds 4 New Fighters & Some Fixe
I wanted to comment on this point when the recent patch notes were announced. But I didn't want to sound like I am not appreciative of the patch.
GamePlay mentioned he was told that punches thrown that hit didn't need adjustment because when a punch hits it doesn't take as much energy as when missed. True, but in hand to hand combat, when you raise your hands, you are using energy, and even more energy when you start throwing. I understand impact absorbs energy so you don't follow through and have to pull back as when you miss, but you are still using much of your valuable core energy.
In many fights, when a guy absorbs strikes, and withstands them, it is certain that the one throwing will eventually "throw himself out" thereby leaving him highly susceptible to a KO.
I love the attention to the game updates, but EAC needs to sharpen their understanding of stamina and exactly what lack of it does to a fighter's ability to perform when it is drained.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Impressed with EA's updates on this UFC game. I'll definitely miss the updates because things always change in the UFC.. Now if the Madden team can make the same adjustments...Comment

I think most of us were, but that would have been too drastic. The stamina tax is obviously on the strike thrown. So a missed jab won't cost you as much stamina as a missed power hook. At least that is what I am thinking how it works. So the less stamina tax a strike already has, the less you will notice it. If you have two controllers check it out. Throw jabs that miss and see how fast your stamina goes down as compared to missed power hooks. Unfortunately this still allows some spam, but it is way better than before.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

This game single handily changed my view on EA. They can make a great game and all the updates have been fantastic. there's always room for improvement but I;m very happy with the game play and will buy the next installment on day one.
I would urge you to continue to support this game. I'm not asking for anymore patches or free fighters. I want to give you money! I will gladly pay for a tournament mode as well as new fighters. Make it happen EA. I want to give you my moneyComment

If you look very carefully, you can actually see it come off the stamina bar. The first bit comes off as it did before when the strike is first thrown, and the second bit comes off once it's determined if the strike landed or not.
Like you said, jabs cost very little stamina so it's hard to see with those, but with a kick you should be able to see it happen.Comment

30 fights in on the new patch. I think its much improved. Some of the better fighters with high stamina ratings can still spam a bit but overall I find it a lot easier to handle the 250+ crowd.
I'm really glad they got this last patch in. This is a much more balanced place to leave off at then where we were previously.
Looking forward to the next game I think another 10-15% hit to "long term" stamina would put us in a better place. I'd like to see the heavy hitters really gassed by the 3rd.PS4 - CoastalRyan

Not really into the UFC titles so I never bought the game, but I have to say the amount of support that the UFC devs put behind this title is A1!!!! Feels like every other week I'm seeing FREE content added and fixes being implemented.
Kudos... Now talk to the other departments they could learn from you guysComment

Understanding the amount of updates given to his game, and what looks to be extra efforts put into post-development, it's a positive. However, I think we are forgetting how barebones this game was from its initial release. Please understand I'm not calling out specific people, especially GamePlayDev. His presence and explanation of the goings on of this title has been much appreciated.
We have to look though at other titles in comparison and how each hold the same price tags but give different areas of depth in the content dept.. At times it is clear that the Dev team heard the fans and made updates based on what feedback they got, but other times it is obvious the game was rushed out (again, most likely not by devs but EA upper mgmt.) and certain elements had to be left out and then added along the way.
I remember Brizzo in an interview being asked if it was a Spring release and his eyes got big and he he said Summer. But my point is that while there has been a great amount of updates that are not consistent with how other titles work, there has also been an bobvious void this title carried from the start that caused a lack of depth to the overall experience.
Again, my intention isn't to call out guys like GamePlay and others that have shown great support, but I sure hope the upper EA mgmnt. doesn't look at how this title rolled out and call it acceptable for future releases of EA UFC and other sports gaming titles.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment
